Need a recommendation for where to board a dog with severe separation anxiety
I don't know how many of you remember my post about my dog and his anxiety. It just keeps getting so much worse. We are supposed to go away in August for two weeks. We made these plans before he was having any of these issues. Now I'm at a loss as to what to do with him for the two weeks. I'm leery about a place like a Petsmart Hotel because I think being locked in the room all day long really increase his anxiety, but I don't think leaving him home alone and having someone come in a few times a day would be good for him either. Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who perhaps boards in their home? I'm in Nassau County.

Sorry I don't know anyone who boards at their home. You might want to talk with your vet about maybe some meds if you do have to board at a hotel. Also diffrent places offer diffrent experiences. You could also try boarding for a day or daycare to see how your dog does. Also leaving them with a shirt or blanket with your sent might help. Wish I could be more helpful. Unless you know someone who can maybe house and dog sit while your away.

I am using canine commander in August. Before I did a trial night I had never left my two dogs in almost 4+ years. He boards in his house.

Not sure how big your dog is but the Doggie Nanny in Huntington boards small dogs in her home.

Try giving them a call or going there to see the facility. My cousins dog just stayed there for 2 weeks and she was very happy with them. Her new dog had just been rescued and was having some anxiety issues, so she was afraid to leave her. But she did very well.
They have all kids of packages.Upgraded for more "luxurious" rooms, etc.
Doesn't hurt to check them out.
Best of luck! I know how hard it is to leave an anxious pet. My Min Pin is attached to me all the time. I work from home so the both of my dogs are used to having someone with them all the time. When we go away, thankfully, my FIL moves into our house and takes care of them with round the clock walks from my other inlaws.
