Can you put DS in a bed and leave DD in the crib for now?

Re: NEED ADVICE - Really don't know what to do!
My DS started climbing out of his crib when he was around 15 months. He fell a couple times, but then he actually got good at it ! We decided to leave him in the crib with the side rail down so that if he fell, it wouldn't be that far. We also folded a comforter and placed it on the floor around the crib. He wasn't ready for a bed because he always slept right up against the sides of the crib. Once the novelty wore off, he stopped climbing out a lot - he just climbed in to go to sleep and out when he woke up.
They sell crib tents that you can also use. It might be the only way to keep him in a crib or bed because no matter what else you do, he will find a way out.

Is one side of the crib higher than the other? If it is, turn the crib around with the shorter side by the wall and the taller side on the side he would try to climb out.
Crib tents are to keep cats & other animals from getting into the crib and hurting the baby. I do not think they are intended to keep the baby in the crib.

My brother used a crib tent for quite a while and it worked to keep his dd in.

Thanks everyone...we actually just got back from BRU and got crib tents...now that we started to assemble them, we realized that they don't friggin fit our cribs...I am sick of these convertible cribs...nothing works with them! DC are still up and have been since 11:15 this morning!

I have a convertible crib and they work on mine. What is the problem?

Re: NEED ADVICE - Really don't know what to do!
The straps are too short...they don't fit around the lip of the front of the crib and it is too short to fit where it sits on both ends. DH rigged it so that it would work, so we slept a bit easier last night knowing that they were safe. Now DD is hysterical (naptime) b/c she wants the tent opened. She is not one to accept change. She's been crying for 15 minutes...I've been back and forth to console her but she just wants it opened. Not happening!
