Need advice!!! 35 weeks... and getting measured for BM dress in October...
I have to be measured in the next few weeks for a bridesmaids gown in Oct. My due date is April 17th... what do you suggest I do? Order it a size bigger than I usually wear? Or just go by what the place tells me to do.. god knows I am going to pay a fortune in alterations!

JMO...but you shouldn't have to buy or get measured for a BM dress this early, unless they're custom made. If thats the fact then I would get a size up then you wore pre PG and get it altered.

Re: Need advice!!! 35 weeks... and getting measured for BM dress in October...
When I was 7 months pregnant, I had to order a JCrew BM dress for SIL's wedding. I'll be 5.5 months pp at her wedding. I ordered 2 dresses - 1 and 2 sizes above my pre-pregnancy size. Surprisingly, I could zip both of them up over my belly. The dress that was 1 size larger didn't really zip up near my chest so I kept the one that was 2 sizes larger. I'm glad I did b/c I grew another cup size since having DS due to my milk coming in.
I gained 45 lbs during pregnancy and lost it all within the first month or two. My body is definitely different though. I'm almost 3 months pp and tried the dress on last week. It's a little big in the waist, but it doesn't look bad. It fits perfectly on my chest.
I think it was easier to figure out the size though b/c it was from JCrew and not the typical BM designer line where the waist, bust and hip measurements only vary slightly between each size. I also went to be fitted for a BM dress when I was 8 weeks pp. I'll be almost 11 months pp at the time of the wedding. Based on my measurements, I ordered a pretty large size. I'm sure I'll need a lot more alterations with that dress.
You never know what your body will look like after the baby. You could lose all the weight quickly or it could take a while for the weight to come off. The wedding salons deal with this a lot so I'd trust their opinion. It's always easier to take something in than to try to have it taken out.

i think it will depend on the style of the dress. if it is fitted like a mermaid style i would say 2 sizes bigger just in case. if it is aline i would go with just 1 size bigger. just my opinion. are you breast feeding? if you are you may just want to stay safe with 2 sizes bigger.

My SIL was in our wedding party about 3 mos after having her DD and she ordered 2 sizes up and had it altered down to the size she needed.

I have the same issue. I'm going to try to wait until the baby gets here. If that doesn't work, I'm planning to order a size up & pray.
