Need advice re: family party...
My Mom is hosting SIL's birthday tonight. SIL told my Mom that both my niece (age 3) and my brother have a nasty cold and have been sick for over a week.
DS is 5.5 months... Would you still attend?

No.
But my first question is: Why wouldn't they reschedule-for all the guests' heath.

Uggg I hate making these decisions...but being sick for "over a week" is a long time. Do you know if they are on antibiotics? If so, then they should not be contagious and I would attend.
This time of year is also bad for allergies, is it possible it could be that?
I would ask SIL these questions and decide based on her answers.

I agree with this. I also kinda think that possibly a cold could be petering out after a week...

Nooo - they have a high deductible insurance plan and they don't go to the doctor unless it's a well visit
I don't think my niece has allergies...
I know my Mom is going to be really annoyed if I don't go. Ugggggghhhh

No I wouldn't go.
And FYI - antibiotics won't work for a cold. Antibiotics are only good for bacterial infections. A cold is caused by a virus.

Yes I would, but I'd feel grumpy about it like you do!

I'd leave the baby home with DH (if possible) and go for a little while.
