Need Help... DD just spit up a little blood.

What should I do?? She spit up on DH's white tshirt and there was some blood in it. She looks totally fine, although she has been very fussy today. She was smiling and stuff right after she spit up though. I am going to try to take a look in her mouth and try to see if it's in her mouth, or the blood came from her stomach, etc.

I'll also call the Ped, but wanted to post,

are you breast feeding?

are your nipples dry or cracked at all??

that could cause some blood to go in her mouth -

Does she eat formula? G had blood in her stool and I found out she had a milk-protein allergy (around 5 weeks old).

When ds started spitting up blood it was so scary. After an emergency trip to the ped we found out it was my blood. We had thrush and although my nips didn't look like they were bleeding they were but only when he suckled. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My nipples are not dry or cracked in any way-- they are perfectly fine. No pain, or soreness even.

Thrush can cause this though- and you can have no symptoms. Does she have any white spots in her mouth?

nothing different than the bit of white that's on her tongue normally. the doc just checked for thrush on thurs.

i spoke to the on call doc, and she thinks it related to reflux.

DS had this happen about 2 weeks ago. It was just oince and i totally freaked out. Dr said it probably came from me and he was fine (other than his already recognized reflux). Went to my OB and turns out I had a breast infection. She prescribed me Diflucan.
