NEED HELP/OPINIONS! THE "FRONT HOUSE PARKERS" ARE AT IT AGAIN!!
Ok, so I dont know if you all remember me posting about our neighbors and their visitors... quick refresher... they ALL ALWAYS insist on parking DIRECTLY in front of our house/door... even when there is PLENTY of free space available in front of their own house... they are just too lazy to turn around... (our house is on the right of the main street in).... so I've had enough! I am writing a letter and need all of your opinions before I put it in their mailbox... here it is:
"Dear __+__,
Welcome home from vacation! We hope you guys had a great time :)
Listen, we didnt want to bother you so we thought we'd just drop a little note.
We would really appreciate if you could ask your future visitors to try and not park directly in front of our house/door. The dog ends up growling and barking the entire time (I'm guessing because the scent is unfamiliar?)... and she driving us nuts~lolol! We would like to keep that spot clear so that we could park one of our cars there. If you could just ask them not to pull so far up (stay more towards the side of the house) that would be such a great help!
Thank you both so much!!"
So what do you all think?? Should I change it, dont send it, do something else? HELP!! Tia!!

Honestly, I'm too chicken to talk to them face to face  and DH won't do it cause he thinks it gonna cause problems... but I seriously don't care anymore... I'm so freaking sick of it... its EVERYDAY>>>> HER MOTHER, HER SISTER, HER FATHER..... and big SUV's!!

I would take out the LOL & put a smiley face - since you're not on a computer.
Otherwise excellent job! Very nice too! I may have to plagiarize your note since we have a parker too.

Honestly... We have neighbors who DO the same thing. BUT i'd never say anything to them. Id complain on here but not to them. its a free street you know... But I feel your pain

I can see your point... but its every day, and the front of their house if EMPTY... not one car in front of it.... it gets verrrrrrrrrrry annoying...
to be honest my visitors automatically park in front of my home, they wouldnt just park in front of someone else's when there is free space right in front of my house...

I've had some neighbors do the same thing but as annoying as it may be, technically we have no right to say anything since we really don't own the street.
Oh I know this rationally... lolol.... but I think that if we're gonna live w/ these people for lord knows how long, its better to get it out in the open... no? I dont know what to do!!  to me its just a matter of common respect...and there's plenty of parking in front of their own house!!!

Hmmm, maybe put more emphasis on the idea of parking in front of their house when there is a spot available in front of their house. You don't really mention that and that is the main issue.

Not for nothing... but if I got a letter in my mailbox to this effect... I would crumble it up and throw it in the mailbox of the owner it originated from.
First off... owning a house doesn't mean you own the street in front of your house.
Second off... if you are going to complain or bring this up... have the guts and do it in person. Writting a letter is just so tacky.
Third... don't expect anything done. Its one thing if a neighbor parks their OWN cars in front of your house (and leaves their house free and clear). But you are telling his visitors where to park. Come on. Someone brought up a great point... where do they expect your visitors to park?
Sorry... but I gotta disagree with this whole concept of (parking privledges).

I would definately talk to them face to face and make it about your dog making a fuss. They may not change their behavior but at least you won't be sitting there getting upset when it happens and not have it off your chest. Most likely they don't even see it as a problem and will be happy to accomodate you.

I SO get the wanting to avoid face-to-face thing- we have issues with the kids across the street throwing beer bottles on our lawn. I got so mad one day that I was going to go say something. But DH pointed out that they might get defensive (it's an odd living arrangement over there) and ask how we knew it was them. So I think the note is a good idea, sans "lol" as Barbara pointed out.

I wouldn't write the note....I would ask them face to face, a note can be taken soo many different ways, and face to face at least you get some kind of answer...if you don't want to talk to them, then do something passive aggressive...start parking your own car there, after a bit the guests might just get used to parking elsewhere...
it's really rude to park in front of someone else's house when there are spots open in front of the house you're visiting...
my parent's neighbor used to park in front of thier house all the time...until my face set the sprinkler up to spray all over thier car

we too used to have neighbors visitors park in front of our house ALL THE TIME!!!!! and since we dont have a driveway it was really like parking in our spots
behind their house is an Indian church that he is the (pastor?) of so asome of his churchgoers go through their backyard to go to church.....walking all over my lawn and paring in front of our house
One day DH's older brother came and saw this guy on our lawn and flipped out at him....no more parking or walking on my prperty since
I dont suggest this approach though

We have neighbors like this too, but we don't own the street so I feel like it is out of line to say anything.

If it bothers you that much, then park your OWN car in front of your house and your neighbor's visitors will not park there.
I would be VERY annoyed if I received a letter and to be honest, I would park in front of your house or instruct my guests to, on purpose.
