Need HELP with menu planning!!!
We're having people over on sunday and I can't seem to get this menu to look right to me!!! We have a 1 bedroom apartment so I'm not sure if I'm making lasagna or BBqing yet. Anyway these appetizers look like a hodgepodge to me. Any suggestions?
Starters:
Marinated Mozzarella Cheese Balls
Bruschetta and Toast
Different Cheese and Cold Cut Platter
Flatbread and Hummus
Blue Tortilla Chips with Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip
Spinach Balls
Mini Dumplings
Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Mini Queische
Main:
Salad with nuts, cheese and dried cranberries
Either Lasagna or BBq
-Lasgna would be Vegetarian
-BBq would be Chicken thighs, Sausage and Burgers and Veggie Burgers
But then with BBQ I'd probably make a macaroni salad
Dessert:
Cupcakes
Fruit Salad
Cookies
Any suggestions would be LOVELY!! Thanks!

Looks like a great menu...... The apps. go with either the BBQ or lasagna..... if I wasn't gonig to be out of town I would invite myself over Have a great time

HAHAHAH. Where are the shrimp? I would def have some shrimpses. Whether it be cold with cocktail sauce or marinated and put on the BBQ. You can make Lasagna anytime but this could be your last real outside BBQ of the season. Go out with a bang.

Shrimp!! Hmmmm DH and I don't eat seafood but I suppose we can make the sacrifice? 
We've never had seafood step foot inside the house. I can't stand it nor the smell

Don't you make those yummy spinach balls? I think that would go with your menu (or should I just make and bring them? )

Spinach balls huh? I do make them. They're a bit of a pain but I can make them ahead of time...hmmmmmmmmm
OR you're right you can just make them and bring them In between your naps!

I remember them being VERY good! I think I ate most of them when you made them 
And I am waiting to get my nap in about an hour

Seriously, I think everything is great and you don't need anything else. Leave it as it is and your guests will be happy and full.

i think your menu is great.
if you are going with a "theme" i'd say the only thing that doesn't really "fit" would be guacamole.. but honestly, do you think guests care if the food "fits"? NO! they just want to eat 
also, my vote is for BBQ rather than lasagna. it gives people more options

oh my goodness!!! i shouldn;t have opened this post when i was starving...that looks like an AWESOME menu...it's really similar to what i usually do and everyone loves it. i might whip up a hummus to go with the flat bread...
would your husband be working the grill? i'm thinking if he's in charge of the grill, you'd be able to just hang out with your guests and that would be nice, but the good thing about lasagna is you can prep it beforehand and just pop it in the oven.
either way, you're throwing an AWESOME party!

Okay I edited the appetizers a bit taking in all your suggestions.
The thing about the BBQ which is throwing me off of it, is that we live on the 2nd floor of an apartment and poor DH would have to be outside by himself grilling. I just feel bad and think that just throwing lasagna in the oven might be easier.
