Re: Need opinions on this name please
It's my son's name (spelled Tristan). I don't like it for a girl. Have you thought about Trista?

Personally not a fan but if you love it, it's your child and you should name him/her whatever you want!

Okay I'm going to sound really confusing. I think it sounds too much like a boy name. But on the other hand I always thought it sounded too feminine for a boy name as well. I guess you can say I'm not 100% about the name either way. I do like the name Brooke.
I think your DD name Emerson is very cute. Do people consider that unisex as well. I only think girl when I hear that name.
ITA with everything you said.

Re: Need opinions on this name please
i think tristen brooke sounds like a girl...b/c of the brooke obviously, but in reality, most people don't use their middle names. honestly, if i saw a "tristen smith" or "tristen jones" without the "brooke" i'd be apt to think it was a boy.

I like Tristen, but I just imagine it spelled "Tristan" or "Tristian"...something about the e is throwing it off for me.
And particular reason you chose that spelling?
I agree - I think it's a cute name and my coworker has a female friend named Tristan who is in her 30s.
I work with someone who named their daughter Aidan and know a ton of people who have named their daughters Ryan.

Re: Need opinions on this name please
I love unisex names, but I don't think Emerson or Tristen are unisex. Emerson is a girl's name, and Tristen/Tristan are boys names. Sorry

I actually love this spelling. You're definitely going to get mixed reviews, but if you like it that's all that matters. If this baby is a girl we're naming her Dylan.. and one of my coworkers told me she HATED that and it was mean to name a girl that.. I found out from another coworker that the woman who said that, her son is named Dylan, so I guess that's why it bothered her so much. Tristan- as a female name is actually growing in popularity over the past few years if you look at popularity name charts, only know bc we briefly considered it too.

I also feel Tristan is a boy name and adding Brooke makes it even more masculine to me. What about Tristyn as a spelling. Maybe adding a y would feminize it a bit more. I do like unisex names, but I just am not feeling this as unisex yet.

I love the name but I am thrown of by Brooke if its a boy for a middle name. But I wouldn't think too much on it since it is a middle name.

I really like it!
I think I would spell it Tristyn--not sure why but to me, the 'y' makes it more feminine
I agree!!

My nephew is Tristan, so I automatically think boy when I hear the name.
I agree that Trystin/Tristyn would make it a bit more feminine.

agree - i like it, but i just think of a boy. But then again my sons name is Grayson and sometimes over the phone people assume its a girl, maybe "grace-in", so i say if you like it, go for it! Not everyones going to love youre name choices, you and DH are the only people who matter

If you both like it then what does it matter what others think! It's pretty!
Put well. Agreed! Go for what feels right.
