Need QUICK help! Need internet/router connection help!!

We recently moved from our apt into my MIL's house.

In our apt we had cable modem and a Netgear wireless router so DH could use his laptop.

Now were in MIL's house, she has a cable modem w/ a Linksys wireless router. She only has a laptop. The modem is connected by the cable for the tv.

The room where we have our desktop (our bedroom) does not have cable. I want to utilize wireless, but do not know what I need for my PC in order to to this.

What do I need?? HELP!! I am not that computer savvy.


I've been googling- would a Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter work?? Does it have to be Linksys b/c her wireless router is Linksys??

You don't need to keep the same brands between router and card. But if the price is the same, I would get one as if you need customer support it would be easier to get help.

yep a wireless usb adapter is what you need! i just did this in DD's room.
