Need Sleep Advice - 12 month old
So my almost 1 year old has always been a great sleeper…Before 9 months I could probably count on one hand the number of nights he woke up more than once. Then he hit 9 months and now for the past 3 months I can count on one hand the number of times he has slept through the night.
When he turned 9 months he learned to stand up in his crib and that changes everything! Before I think he would cry out a bit maybe toss and turn and fall back asleep. Now he cries stands up, I will let him cry a little and then when I go in there he is still standing with his head leaning on the side of the crib. And I thought once he started walking he would be extra tired so he would sleep more –nope, he has been walking for almost a month and his sleeping hasn’t been affected!
Oh and he stopped putting himself to sleep as well, now he wants to be rocked again. Which I would have no problem with but I feel like he is losing the ability to self soothe in the night. I should also say that in the last 3 months we have had a bad cold which affected his breathing and he was on a nebulizer, a minor ear infection and I think 2 or 3 teeth come in!
So I need some advice because I need to get him back to sleeping…
Here is his schedule 7am – 6oz bottle 9am – cereal & fruit 9:30 – 45-90 minute nap 11 – 6oz bottle 1:30 – lunch 3pm – 6oz bottle 3:30 – 60-90 min nap 5 – 4oz bottle 6:30 – dinner 8 – 6oz bottle 8:45 – story, bedtime (in crib by 9)
I will take ANY advice. I am willing to try anything to get back to a normal sleep routine!
TIA!

Re: Need Sleep Advice - 12 month old
what would happen if you pushed his first nap back a little later and then no second nap? maybe cutting out that nap would help him sleep at night..sorry other then that no other ideas for you..gl

Hey i believe you owe me an email dear...
Chris needs his AM nap, he gets really whiny, clingy and moody without his am nap. It basically sets the tone for his day.
He can sometimes do without the afternoon nap, but overall I think he still needs the 2 naps, he is most definately tired, he is rubbing his eyes and will just fall asleep on me if I pick him up....
