Need advice about traveling with a 15-16 month old.
We are taking two trips (via airplane) Aug 30- Sept 10. One will be just Troy and myself.
Troy is a great walker and loves to walk everywhere, but HATES holding hands- when I attempt to hold his hand (or even wrist) he squats down and pulls his hand out of mine with ALL his strength (and most often succeeds).
I am planning to take and CHECK his convertible car seat and take to the gate his travel system stroller (I'd LOVE to buy a new, more compact one but can't afford it now-plus can't find one I LOVE that won't break the bank). Troy usually does well in the stroller, but I do not use it often and he's never in there for long periods of time.
Any suggestions on how to "contain" him, especially when I am traveling alone w/ him? DH bought him the monkey "backpack" with the tail "leash", but 1-I am not keen on the idea and 2-DH now thinks Troy is too "strong" for it.
Please, I am trying NOT to lose my sanity!
Thanks!!

I would probably buy an umbrella stroller for the plane. Maybe start practicing. If he refuses to hold your hand, put him in the stroller.
Then when you get him to the gate, let him run around. Also not sure what time you're leaving but I would try to tire him out beforehand.
Good luck!

Thanks! I am "afraid" of an umbrella stroller b/c I wont have a tray for him (which he does GREAT with), a tray for me or a basket. I suppose a basket isn't that big of a deal b/c I will have a backpack.
