Need sleeping help for a 9 month old-sorry long
I know that is probably all our fault but I have no idea how to fix it. My DD responded really well to CIO and if she got off schedule a night or two of it again would do the trick.
My DS has the hardest cry to listen too- it just tears your heart out. Even strangers stop if he were to cry for some reason and want to soothe him. Its just that kind of cry. But even so when I returned to work we did CIO at night to get him to sleep through the night at 6 months old. It sort of worked- but I would still go in and rock him back to sleep if he woke in the middle of the night( I know, dumb).
Now its 3 months later and due to a trip to NY where the sleeping arrangements were all messed up and he mostly slept in our bed, he only wants to sleep with us. He is even getting worse- I can put him down at 7pm no problem but five hours later he is up crying or even earlier. Last night he woke up at 8:30 My DH stayed up with him when he got up 3 times last night since I really needed to get some sleep.
The doctor thought he may not be eating enough since he only gained a oz in the last three months so we added tons of snacks and food to his diet but not still working. If anything, its gotten worse.
Is there anything we can do? I am going to let him CIO or at least try tonight. I am at a loss and I really need some sleep! TIA

No real advice except for your own idea...I would CIO and go through the process asap. But...maybe a weekend would work better to start it so you dont have to worry about waking for work...GL

I was thinking tomorrow night since DH will be away for work. He is not helping!
Doesn't matter what night it is- if I take him to bed with me, I get no sleep either. Thanks for answering!
