Need weekend getaway suggestions

DH and I want to go away for a long weekend (4 days probably) in July before our baby comes in October. We are looking for someplace no more than 5ish hours away, as we don't want to spend 2 of our 4 days in the car.

We don't want an inner city kind of thing (Boston and DC are out), but there needs to be stuff to do.

We considered Martha's Vineyard, but worry that there won't be enough to do there. I looked into the Mohonk Mountain House upstate, but their rooms start at $510/night. I've been to the Poconos many, many times and don't want to do that again. The east end of LI is out, as my folks have had a summer house there for years and we've done it all.

Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated! TIA.

Newport, RI! You'll love it - you can walk around the mansions, go on the cliff walk, stroll around town - there is a lot to do. The restaraunts are great and serve fresh everything. If you take the orient pt ferry, it's less than 2 hours away when you arrive in CT.

Newport - LOVE newport. I cannot wait to go back - we try to go once a year if we can.

I hear Cape May in NJ is nice.
