Need you thoughts/opinions
I have one cat (Bailey) who I have had for about 15 years. When I lived with my dad we also had a dog with whom the cat got along with but has not been around any other animals since I moved out (he's strictly an indoor cat). I was recenlty at a shelter and saw an adorable kitten with the name Suzie Q - now my sister thinks that this is a sign since my mom's nickname was Suzie Q! (mom passed away 7 years ago). I talked it over with DH and he has no objections to getting another cat. I juast don't know if we should since Bailey has had the run of the house for 4 years now. I am just being whiney, but I am just looking for some opinions. What would you do?

Re: Need you thoughts/opinions
I had a cat who we had living solo for 12 years. On his 12th year we adopted another cat and he LOVED her. I didnt think he would really care for her since he was always the master of the house but they really loved each other!! i say go for it- it will take some time to get used to each other im sure in the beginning

Re: Need you thoughts/opinions
As long as you ease the new kitten into the household, I think it will be great! I had a very territorial older cat (he was MEAN!!!), and we got a kitten. We kept the kitten in the bathroom for about a week before introducing them. Then we introduced the kitten for a few minutes at a time, then we let the kitten out while we were home, and eventually just let the kitten out all of the time. It took about 3 weeks in all, but it worked perfectly. As long as the older cat is bigger, he/she will still feel like the dominant animal in the household.
Get that kitty!!!
