Nervous about the trigger shot....
Had an appt with Dr. B this morning and he gave me the ok to trigger tonight. He wants it done in the upper arm (Novarel) with the big needle. How bad is this going to hurt? (I'm a wimp!)
Should I ice it beforehand? Is it better if DH does it slow and steady until the needle is all the way in or should he do it quickly?
I guess I should be happy that all of the other shots are over with (and they weren't bad at all). I go for my ER on Thursday at noon.

I don't know about the arm. I always did it in the butt area. I'm thinking the arm might be easier to reach too. It really isn't too bad, you just have to psych yourself out over that initial push into the skin. Once it's in it's fine. You'll do fine!! (I won't let DH near me with a needle)

I had to do it at 2:30am today. We had to set the alarm!
I iced first for about 10 minutes until my arm was numb. I think July probably gave you the sheet with the directions and it shows where to do it on the upper arm.
DH did it for me.

Why do they have you do it in the arm? Is that a Braverman thing or an IVF thing? No one tells me anything!!

Not an IVF thing...I never did trigger IM, I always did it sub-q

I'm a Braverman patient and I do the trigger in my stimach, but its Ovidrel. Don't know if that is the difference. Glad it was easy. Good luck with your ER!

The trigger was not bad at all...though my daily shots burned...my DH did all the shots....usually slower is better, if it burns, just speed it up.

i go to kofinas and have had the girl there do it and my dh has done it always in the arm, its not that bad, if you can get the other shots you can get through this one
