It's literally the way science works that e enter an UNKNOWN problem by putting the people with the most training and education at the forefront and accept that not all predictions will pan out as society figures things out.
Asymptomatic transmission has been proven.
Unscrupulous, scummy people who want to go out and be among people when they 100% know that they have symptoms, or even know they have the virus are also not only a proven thing, but a pervasive thing. This will continue to happen, At stores, gatherings, schools, colleges, any place that someone without regard for others wants to be.
And I don't know anyone was EVER ok with the idea that only the old and sick would die--that's not ok--but that's not even true. Healthy people in their 30s and 40s are dying every day. And people who don't die recount MONTHS of agony, torture, and neverending complications and long term effects.
Reopening pursuant to guidelines that correspond with reality is one thing. The rage, selfishness, and denial that fills society now is quite another.
and I know someone personally who tested positive and still went to work knowing this....
This is how the cycle continues my friends.

Side note. I had to visit a hospital for something work related (I am not a healthcare worker)
They gave me a sticker that said "I've been screened" and the date. They did not take my temp or even ask me any questions about symptoms or anything. Now that being said I didn't have symptoms, but if I was asymptomatic and had it, could have still spread to people...

I think your chances of spreading it would have been minimal though as long as you were washing your hands and covering your cough and sneeze (if you did either). I assume you wear a mask at the hospital though, no?

I thought it was interesting how Cuomo said today that you would think doctors/nurses/hospital staff would have the highest infection rates since they are directly treating the virus but that’s actually not the case. The point was really about wearing masks and how it protects others. I hadn’t really thought about it until he mentioned it. Interesting point.

Essentials are not the ones getting it. It is the retired, unemployed who “claim” they stay home.

I did wear a mask. I obviously used hand sanitizer while I was there too, but there was a guy next to me waiting to drop off clothing for someone just Coughing all over. I was just surprised they gave me a sticker to say I was screened but didn’t really screen me...

And why I am afraid to go back to work and send my kid to school. You know there will be parents sending their kids regardless and pumping them with fever reducers before dropping them off - they did it before this and will continue to

When did the CDC ever say it spread easily those ways?
At the beginning of this. They said they did not believe it was airborne, and is transmitted through direct contact with people and surfaces. I feel like they're making shit up as they go. They have no idea. Just wash your hands and practice good hygiene, and all will be well
Yes! Plus the whole thing about being contagious to others while being asymptomatic...I’m not buying it. PubMed.
1 study wont change my mind. Asymptomatic transmission is still happening. Suffolk County numbers have been higher than Nassau and while they trend downward as more tests are done, the virus is still silently spreading.
These folks were probably
https://www.dallasnews.com/news/public-health/2020/05/21/texas-supreme-court-justice-debra-lehrmann-husband-test-positive-for-coronavirus/
They aren't asymptomatic if they have fevers and body aches. They also say they "haven't gone anywhere" except the places they went to. Who knows who else they came in contact with. They probably came in direct contact with someone else that hasn't gone anywhere and is also "asymptomatic" lol. People lie. How many people are sniffling and feeling crappy right now and they blame allergies? Those are people that could have it but they say "but I've had no symptoms".
These people also tout how careful they were and how they followed the rules so carefully and even got themselves down to food shopping just every other week like it's some kind of contest who can leave the house the least...yet...they had their kids visiting every other weekend with a 6 month old infant! Really? A baby? And now they have the virus and probably exposed everyone including that baby. I mean come on. They have NO IDEA how they got it. No idea! Yet they had visitors in their home all the time. But no, it must have been that biweekly trip to the supermarket when you walked by someone in the dairy aisle.
Why are we assuming they infected the baby or their kids first? The woman is a judge in her 60s and claims she doesnt know how she got it, and its probably likely that she didn't contract it from a supermarket but from her kids who visited her 2 or 3x during the lockdown. If her son and his wife were NOT showing symptoms and were certain they were not infected, then they clearly one of them must have been asymptomatic at some point. They both tested negative so either they cleared the infection by the time they passed the virus onto the couple, or they were not really the source of the infection. While it is true the woman could have lied and said she only saw 2 people the entire 2 months they were on lockdown,
I really dont think its fair to blame the victim. She is in her 60s and clearly her age makes her part of the high risk group, and she did say they cooked most of their meals and only went out bi-weekly for groceries. To me, it seems they DID take a lot of precautions yet somehow they caught the virus from someone who DID NOT show obvious Covid symptoms.. Which is why I say it is important to always wear a mask because you could be infected and notn even know it.

I'm not blaming them. I'm just saying if you are having people over to your home to visit during a stay at home order and you are high risk you really can't say you were being 100 percent careful. I didn't go over my parents house at all. I didn't bring my daughter there. The minute you open up your home to guests you are increasing your risk. Now it's them and whoever they have been in contact with...the circle widens.
