New coffee pot - pros/cons? - I bought it!
I'm thinking of buying a percolator coffee pot. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but if I do make it, I want it to taste good.
I have a super-fancy coffee & espresso maker combo now, but sometimes I just wants something quick and easy.
I'm considering this one from BB&B. Anyone have this one or similar? Pros/cons?
(I have no idea where this post will wind up - Food, Home, NFR. I'll let the powers-that-be decide.)
UPDATE: I went out at lunch and bought this one! I had to go to BB&B to buy a bridal shower gift, but all I walked out with was this "gift" to myself!
I can't wait to use it. Thanks for the recommendations!

Re: New coffee pot - pros/cons?
We don't drink coffee, but have the perculator for when people come over. Works very well for what we want.

Re: New coffee pot - pros/cons?
All I know is that I just bought it off of a family members BB&B registry for her bridal shower.
Here are some reviews for the pot (same exact item #) from amazon.com:

Re: New coffee pot - pros/cons?
I just read the reviews. As with most things, they just don't make them like they used to.
However, after reading them, I really want a great, rich, hot cup of coffee now!
I think I'll have to head to BB&B and pick one of these puppies up!

I don't know anything about percolaters, but I love my french press. It makes the smoothest coffee!

Re: New coffee pot - pros/cons?
I have about 3 different farberware percolators in different sizes .... if at all possible I prefer any stovetop/perked coffee to drip coffee

Percs make THE BEST coffee, I often find that drip machines make lukewarm coffee, a percolator like that one makes HOT HOT HOT coffee. I love those machines, reminds me of my grandma's coffee, she makes AWESOME coffee.

Re: New coffee pot - pros/cons? - I bought it!
I like my drip coffee (always HOT, HOT, HOT - even just on Warm) but we also have 2 Farbareware Pots a 2-4 (DH has had this for years) and a 12 cup he got this before he moved in with me so probably 6 or 7 years ago. He LOVES them.

I have that exact percalator and I love it! Coffee still tastes good even an hour after you make it. Good choice!

Really? Heaven you say?
Could I get this at a regular supermarket, like Stop & Shop?
And forgive my naivete, but if it says espresso, will it be very strong and knock my socks off??

stop and shop should carry it I would think. here in la ciudad, Key Food, Pathmark, and Fairway all have it.
it's not too strong and you can tweak it.
but heat up some milk with this stuff and it will knock your socks off in a good way.

I'm hanging with the inlaws tonight, so I dont think I'll be able to stop at any stores this evening, but I'm now on a mission to find it.
We have a Fairway out in the 'burbs too. That store has everything.
Oh, btw, is this the same coffee you use to make iced coffee (I was reading the Recipes board today too )?

this is the ONLY pot DH will use for his coffee.
I gave away our "fancier" ones from my bridal shower because this is the only one he likes.
Enjoy!!

Re: New coffee pot - pros/cons? - I bought it!
I love my Faberware percolator and I don't care what the coffee authorities say! Apparently, coffee should only be brewed once which is why a french press is best and a percolator isn't good since the coffee is constantly being sent up the tube. ..but you know what? The percolator keeps the coffee nice and hot and I think it tastes good.

I've heard only good things about it. I'm either in for one of these or the press.
