ok, so my question to ladies who are in a split decision with their DH's about finding out:
If I want to know and he doesn't, how can I possibly keep it from him??? I'm going to start referring to the baby at some point as he or she once I know...I'm going to register and people are going to talk....is this even possible?????
For me I wouldnt even take that chance.. It was hard enough for me to keep the secret I was pregnant from him for 2 days b/c i wanted to surprise him for fathers day.. I found myself wanting to give hints, and I know I would want to again if I knew the sex. If he knew and I didnt I think I would constantly bug him to tell me or try and see if he slipped up.
Yeah, I don't think it would work either, at least in my situation. He seems to think he won't find out so I can know and I told him he's going to find out somehow and I'm not going to keep referring to the baby as "it" once I know, ya know?

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!
Hey girls! I can't believe we're all going to, or about to go to our level II's!!! This is so crazy...its seems like just yesterday we were all celebrating our bfp's and then throwing up for 2 months..thank God that's over!!! Ours is on the 30th also and the day can't come fast enough...We're not finding out the sex and honestly if one of us did, I think that one would slip before the ninth month and I wouldn't want to ruin my hubby's surprise if that is what he wanted, or if it was what I wanted. I can't wait for all of us to be holding our babies!!! Ok girls, let seriously talk about the our GTG? Lets start with, is a weekday better or a weekend day???

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!
Hi Everyone! So exciting that the level II are starting already! Good luck tomorrow 5ofclubs! I can't wait to find out...i'm dying over here! I can't wait to start shopping!! Neither can my MIL and mom...they are anxious to find out so they can start buying stuff. I have to wait another 3 weeks.
Ruby- I don't know if you can hide it from your DH. That would be hard. I probably would slip by saying he or she at some point. Try to convince him to find out!

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!
hey girls,
just got back from san fran. i had planned a little trip before i got pregnant. anyhow, it was a nice week, a little chilly but got to see some old friends. lemme tell ya, san fran is NOT for pregnant women "taking a stroll" i was seriously getting winded walking up those streets! they are so steep! LOL anyhow, DH and DS really enjoyed it; i had been there before, but they hadn't.
welcome to the newbies. good luck to allison and congrats to MrsRbk. glad to see everything turned out well... and you're having a !
i am in so much trouble if i am having a . no doubt i'll go broke buying cute outfits! btw, this is my prediction for myself. a
i dunno why, this pregnancy is completely different from my son's. i had a little MS first few weeks, then nothing. the first few days of our trip to san fran i began throwing up again, and now, back to nothing (which is fine by me!) i am feeling lots of movement---like a little fish swimming inside!
glad to be back home in chicago though... wish i could join your GTG, but assuming it will be on or near LI!
oh, next appt. for me is on the 26th of sept. the day after i see janet jackson in concert. i hope baby tolerates it okay

There is no way I could know and dh couldnt. if your dh is adamant about it, then try to compromise.. we've waited 5 months would it be so bad to wait 4 more?
That is what i keep telling myself.. I want to find out so bad one day, and then not so much the next.. must be hormones!

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!
Hi everyone, glad to hear you are all doing well. I too cannot believe how fast these past few week have gone. Almost halfway there. Well I had my 16 week appt yesterday and we got to hear the heartbeat again which is always so amazing to hear. I lost another pound but the doctor said it is probably because I have been eating more healthy then I did before the pregnancy and not to be concerned. It is so strange because I feel like for the past two weeks I have been hungry/eating all the time. I know it will catch up to me though because my body has definitely changed. Maternity pants are my new best friend. I am going to call today to make my appointment for my level 2. Hope you all have a great day!

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!
Hey all...well, I had another 2 week cervix checkup yesterday. My cervix is staying nice and tight, so I've been lucky so far! I also asked the sono tech to take another quick looksy to see if "he" was still a "he' and guess what???
I'm DEFINITELY having a !!! I was so super excited! I knew it was pretty likely, but because I found our so early (12wk, 6days), I just wanted to confirm (I was 18 weeks, 4 days yesterday).
Can't wait for my Level II on the 26th when I get to see my munchkin again! I didn't get to see him yesterday b/c it was just a quick check for my cervix...but the 26th will come fast!
Good luck to the rest of you girls who are going for yours in the next week or so!

Oh- good luck!!! I still haven't decided when I am going to tell them here that I am not coming back!! It is so hard. I am scared that they are going to hate me.........
We go for our next sono on Tuesday morning......I can't wait to see "peanut" again. I had a level II about 2 weeks ago but baby was not cooperating with everything they needed so we get to do it again!! That is nice......Plus I have a few more days to convince him that we need to know what we are having......it's killing me.........

Im not doing this time around. With my last pregnancy I did in August and dd was born in sept... Even doing that close when it was time to do the breathing I forgot.. and didnt work for me during labor. The class i did get alot out of and helped me with the anxiety of was the breastfeeding class... if you plan on bfing defiantly worth it.

I'll be 20 weeks on Monday and I'm still waiting to feel my little one!
The nurse at my OBs office signed us up for classes right after my first OB appointment. They are once a week for 2 hours for 5 weeks. We start the first week of December.

I won't be doing any typical childbirth classes. I've delivered 8 babies myself and know exactly what to expect. The only thing I've considered is maybe one of the hypno-birthing classes. One of my good friends is 5'2" and 90lbs soaking wet---she did this with both of her sons who were over 9lbs each and went completely natural and very quietly!!! It's definitely more of a "tree-hugging/yoga" type thing, but hey...if it works and I can remain drug-free, why not try it. The only caveat is that it costs over $400, so unless I find a job, it's not going to happen.
I am, however, going to see what I can find about BF'ing and possibly take a class on that (those are offered for free at the hospital where I am delivering). It seems like it can be much more difficult than it seems.

How cool! I have also delivered a few babies myself..... I am also loking into Hypno-birthing classes because I pretty much know everythign else already......
Keep looking around for different prices from different instructors. You can also buy the hypno birthing CDs and books online, maybe even used on amazon or ebay, and learn on your own....It shouldn't be that difficult!!!
