Congrats!! She's precious.

I know you had your heart set on water birth.. I remember your posts from the preggo board.

I also know it sux when things do not go as planned..I totally was against getting a c-section. But after 14 hours and 2 failed epidurals, I had to have an emergency C. I felt so upset, and like I exposed DS to drugs unnecessarily because the epi's failed and I felt EVERYTHING. I was really upset, and didn't think I would get over the trauma..and I was also doubting having more kids after going thru that.

Everyone kept telling me that I would forget the pain one DS was here. I didn't Chat Icon But it now seems like a distant, foggy memory...so hopefully after a few more months, I will forget.

In any case, you too need time to heal and get over it. You're not a failure. The birthing process is the one thing we have no control over, and that's the hardest part. In the end, it's all about what is best for DC.

Here's some hugs in the meantime..it will get easier.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm glad to hear that things are starting to go away for you!!! Its so hard when you have no control over anything!

Re: New Mommy here

Congratulations and welcome!!! She is beautiful!

My DD's middle name is Shea too! Chat Icon

I've read that it's pretty common for women to feel really upset and even depressed when their birth experience turns out to be vastly different from what they wanted/expected. I have a friend who went through this after an emergency c-section. She was TERRIFIED of the thought of becoming preggo ever again after her first experience, but now she is expecting DC#2!

I hope in time you can heal and move past it. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

What a big beautiful girl! Look at all that hair! I'm sorry your labor and delivery were so tough Chat Icon Chat Icon It's amazing what our bodies go through. But nature has a way of erasing or blurring alot of it so we can do it again... hopefully that will be the case for you too. Chat Icon

Congrats on your beautiful baby girl! Chat Icon Chat Icon
