new thoughts on this contractor related-LONG
The contractor doing work at my house over heard a private conversation my husband was having in the bedroom on the phone- the contractor then went downstairs and repeated this conversation to my mother( she was visiting at the time)
what my dh was talking about had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE Contractor
my mom later tells me I ***** to dh etc, etc
my dh is pissed!
says something to the contractor before going to work- contractor said nothing in response
now comes time for the final payment but work is not done contractor says will be back in 2 weeks to do the work- pay for that separately
my dh tells him he needs to finish all the work and then he will get paid- this is because he started this job stopped coming went to another job and something that should of been 2 weeks tops is over a month.
and the ******* to him how he unprofessional to tell private conversations to my mother and he broke guy code??
NOW THE CONTRACTOR CALLS MY SISTER- HE's DONE WORK FOR HER IN THE PAST AND SAYS WE ARE NOT PAYING HIM AND THEN PROCEEDES TO TELL HER ALL ABOUT MY DH PRIVATE CONVERASTAION
NOW I M UPSET AND VERY MAD AT THE CONTRACTOR
THOUGHTS? OPINIONS?

If he's not the boss, I'd call the boss. I also rip this guy a new asshole. I would also Pay him and get rid of this shit, before I asked him to do a mother damn thing in my house.

Totally unprofessional.
DH is one of the biggest yentas I know and he'd never do something like that with a customer. Even if it was his FRIEND.
If anything, he'd wait till he got home and then I'D have to hear about it. 
But seriously, all joking aside, you have every right to be pissed off.
And like a PP said, if he was not the owner I'd call to complain to the head.

Yes he is the owner- small company
It was a private conversation my ds was having on his phone with the door closed.
I asked dh about this guy code?
he said it means the guy is acting like a tattle tale men don't go and repeat private things to others
I know sounds stupid to me but this is how ds thinks
When I see him to give final payment I am going to tell him he is unprofessional
many on this site use/used him he is VERY cheap
BUT I will say and I am not saying this because of what happened
you do get what you pay for
one example-- he put a free standing bathroom vanity in the corner of the bathroom not centered I said it needs to be a few inches away from the wall and center-
so he re-did and now wants to charge me more for his mistake
this is just one example of many things

I say let your DH handle it. It seems like you are mad about what you found out your DH said? If your DH is that upset about guy code being broken, ( which is BS by the way. Guy code is what they use to to get away with things) let him handle it, and let him tell the guy he was unprofessional.

Do Not give him a "what for". Your gonna look like the idiot woman who is saying "boo hoo you hurt my feelings and I'm upset".
Either let you husband handle it, or give him his money when he is done and let him leave.
The way to "get back" is not recommend him or give him a bad review.

This whole situation is getting worse.
My ds told him to finish the work and come for the money
he never showed
He is now calling-(Again) my sister and now he is telling her she referred him so it her problem and he will never come back to my house again and he wants to pick up the money at her house
who does this?
my sister told him its not her business or concern and she will never use or refer him again
