My DH picked up this tradition in Italy from his friends (I think it was a local Parma thing)...
he gives me red panties every Christmas, and the tradition is to wear them New Year's Eve.
He said that his Italian friends all did this for their girlfriends/wives. I think its romanitc!

We eat black eyed peas on NY day. They are supposed to bring good fortune or something. I have a great recipie with bacon and stuff. YUM

Since January 1st is my dad's birthday we always go out to an early dinner with my family.

When we were little, my family would break dishes on New Years. We each would get a dish and toss it out unto my gram's patio. I loved it!
