I worked in NYC school district and they required vaccinations...
I worked in a pediatrician’s office in Queens when I was in college and we had adults call all the time for copies of their immunization records because they had gotten teaching jobs so the DOE definitely required this ~10ish years ago.
The point it that it is not a law, certain disctricts may require it though. I am certain not all teachers, teachers assistants, bus drivers, coaches need to provide it. Like I said go ahead and review the assembly floor footage. It was brought up and stated that it is not required by law.
I’m not saying it is law. I have no doubt that there are many people who work with children who are never asked for their records.

Oh and how convenient is that we’re not hearing anything in the news about this so called outbreak anymore which by the way is already on the decline this month, I believe assemblyman Raia even mentioned it on the assembly floor. Why in the world would they still push for these bills???? It’s really not hard to know what’s 2+2.

I can understand requiring vaccines like MMR but if they pass the flu to be mandatory, I don't agree with that. My son had a bad reaction to the flu shot when he was a baby so I never gave it to my kids after that. Plus, it's not even proven to be effective against certain strains of flu.

Well if it gets mandated and you refuse to comply, your option will be to homeschool. Make sure you become involved. Look up your representatives and put pressure on them to vote no. Most people sit back, do nothing and complain after.

Another unforeseen consequence of this law. You really will have no option now but to homeschool if it gets mandated. It's pretty much impossible to get a ME. Speak up before it's to late. Contact your representatives.

If you've never been on the fence about a vaccine, you don't realize how pushy Dr's can be. They tell the kids it prevents a terrible type of cancer and most kids will agree to get it. I was pressured into it by my gynecologist years ago (when it first came out) and I was an adult. I didn't even have insurance. I paid hundreds out of pocket because I was convinced I wouldn't get cancer if I got them. I ended up vaccine injured from that series of 3 shots.

There was just an article the other day, I believe it was News12 in the Bronx. An 11 yr old was given the gardisal vaccine by the school nurse with out parental consent. The law didn't even pass yet.
A better question would be how many kids do you know that would say no to someone in a position of authority that can give them the vaccine? No one is saying that a child would necessarily seek out the vaccine. To say it's not a plausible scenario is naive. Call your school and see if the nurse has vaccines, they do.

I just want to respectfully say this isn’t the point. Doctors, nurses, teachers are in the position of authority. What if your 13yo IS asexually active and thinks this will prevent cancer?
The point is how Fcuking dare they inject your child without your knowledge and THIS already happened last week in the Bronx.

I’m so sorry. You and so many others. 400 children in the USA have died from this. Healthy vaccinated children with no injuries DIED. Over 6k seriously injured. Check Vaers.

Well for kids this young, I do believe maybe we need to be in the doctor's office with them still.
Agree, You should most definitely be in the doctors office with your 13yr old underage child.

I highly doubt the school nurse in my DD's elementary school is sitting there saying- come in here now little girl I want to give you a vaccine.
Like they have an agenda.

Or maybe big pharma is paying them per Guardsil shot they administer?

That is not what I am saying at all. They are trying to add the vaccine to the mandated list. There was just a news story about a school nurse administering it to an 11 yr old. Did you see that?
Aside from that, they are trying to pass a law that would allow a yr old to receive the vaccine without parental consent. The article was an example of it happening already. Me mentioning that the school nurse has vaccines is showing that it's a definite possibility.

There was just an article the other day, I believe it was News12 in the Bronx. An 11 yr old was given the gardisal vaccine by the school nurse with out parental consent. The law didn't even pass yet.
A better question would be how many kids do you know that would say no to someone in a position of authority that can give them the vaccine? No one is saying that a child would necessarily seek out the vaccine. To say it's not a plausible scenario is naive. Call your school and see if the nurse has vaccines, they do.

I don't know what I'm going to do for my kids. We're talking about moving. The religious exemption allowed me to avoid 2 vaccines for my boys because they are highly likely to be vaccine injured from them. My kids have all their other immunizations, but now they will not be allow to continue going to school. I was vaccine injured from the HPV vaccine and although my kids have received most of their vaccines, there are 2 (3 if you count the HPV vaccine - that will be mandatory soon) that my specialists (hematologist, rheumatologist, and neurologist) advise against.
There is currently a bill to make the HPV vaccine mandatory that is expected to pass. I was always very pro-vaccine but now because of the slew of health issues I'm still facing from getting that series of 3 shots, I have to be proactive for my kids based on the recommendations from my specialists. My kids pediatrician group does not care, they say there is only a slightly higher chance that my kids would have the same reaction. They are ill-informed and I will trust my specialists opinions over theirs any day. I'm not their patient and they will not even look at my medical records to help make a decision for my kids. My kids do not qualify for a ME because they are not vaccine injured. It is crazy that I have to allow them to be potentially injured to get the medical exemption. A potential lifetime of illness, just to get the exemption. It shouldn't be so difficult when you are legitimately trying to do the right thing.

Maybe you can read the article and contact the school nurse to find out. I have no clue. All I know is rather than sitting here and questioning me, if you are so concerned a more productive avenue would be to look up the bill and contact you assembly person and senator. As a parent, I would be pretty pissed if someone gave my child a vaccine without consent.

Maybe she's just crazy or maybe she genuinely believes she's doing the right thing by vaccinating kids. Right now it's not "proper procedure", but once they pass the bills, she will legally be allowed to do it.
