Newborn sleeping on stomach
I have an 12 w/o girl. She sleeps awesome on her stomach during the day for naps. Of course I am with her watching her, but her head/neck is so strong, so I don't fear her getting stuck in the middle. She seems so content. I rarely put her on her back during the day because she had gotten a bald spot in the beginning from that. So I'm trying to help her hair grow back. Anyway, she basically does sleep through the night already (thank goodness - I've got 21 m/o twins, I need sleep), but starts off very fussy until she nods off. I'd love to put her on her stomach, but am afraid due to sids. I've known people who put their newborns on their stomachs almost from the start and were fine. When did you let your DC do this and feel confortable about it? With my twins, once they could turn over on their own at a few months, they slept on their stomachs. Should I wait until that happens this time also?

Re: Newborn sleeping on stomach
My DD has slept on her belly from about 3 weeks old. It is literally the ONLY way she would sleep. She has always had excellent head/neck control, and the ped said it was fine!
