Updated: If you had your echo done before or around the time of your anatomy scan were they able to/ did they tell you the gender?

We went to Perinatal Associates in Mineola. It's right near Winthrop. I dealt with Dr. Chavez and he was wonderful. He was very calming and reassuring.

I will have to go for one during my pregnancy because I have congenital subaortic stenosis. My high risk obgyn said I will go to Cohen's Children's Hospital for it.

I will have to go for one during my pregnancy because I have congenital subaortic stenosis. My high risk obgyn said I will go to Cohen's Children's Hospital for it.
I also have congenital heart defects, subaortic stenosis is one of mine as well. I just booked at Cohen's. They were lovely on the phone and got me in next week!

Oh good to know! My future sister in law is actually a NICU nurse there and said the mfm unit is nice :)
How has your pregnancy been with the heart defects? (If you don't mind me asking)

Totally fine. I've already had one cardiac workup done and have my next in June. My echo and ekg were all exactly as they have always been. Feel free to FM me. How far along are you?

I'm 10 weeks, had my first cardiac work up and they said it all seems good. No major changes. My cardiologist had me do a cardiac cath before I started ttc to rule out any serious complications that would require surgery. I go for another echo and EKG in 2nd tri, but my cardiologist thinks my insurance will fight paying for the echo unless I am having symptoms. (So stupid)

My cardiologist didn't even mention insurance fighting it. I'm quite a fighter myself though so I don't think I would let them get away with it!  It's fairly typical for a congenital patient to be followed during pregnancy and to be seen more than once. I know for me at least I could be totally asymptomatic and my echo would still show something. I'm sure it will work out but if you ever need any help or advice let me know!
I'll let you know how the fetal echo goes next week!

I went to the Good Sam Pediatric Care Center- I had taken DD2 there after she was born (she had VSD) so they sent me back there for this oen.

I'm sure they could've seen (I'm team green) since I could've found out at my Anatomy Scan a week earlier- BUT the sono techs focus solely on the heart and I would feel funny asking.
It couldn't hurt to ask though!
