NFR... re: recommendations on a camera to buy to take pics of my kids with?
Just realized I cant find the NFR forum.. did they remove? (if so wonder why)..
lol anyway Im looking for a new camera to use to take pics of my girls.. one I have now is wayy to slow and by time it clicks one has taken off. Cant afford to keep trying to hire someone to take pics and end up with nothing 
Any recommendations please??? Looking to buy one black friday

They merged NFR and FHF into one board 
I have a D60- I''ve had it for 2 years now and still only take pictures in auto  I'm in the process of reading tutorials now.
There are alot of really nice point and shoot cameras on the market now- my sister has a really nice Canon model. I'll have to ask her what it is.
I also have a Sony Cybershot that I bought to throw in my diaper bag. It has high Megapixels (14.1) but only 3x zoom. I wish I would've went for more zoom and less MP.
Anyway, I don't know much about cameras- but I would go into a store like best buy that has them all out and try them out.

Do you want a point and shoot or an SLR type.
I have a Nikon D90 SLR and I love it.

I have (and love) the D90. It also can take short videos so having that as an option is nice.

If you want an SLR, and have the budget to spend, get a Nikon D3100 or D7000.
If you are looking to spend a lot less and still get a great camera that fits in your pocket, has awesome zoom, and also take continuous shots like an SLR, get the Nikon S8000. I have that in my bag and it's an amazing point and shoot camera!

I am in the market for the exact same reason, by the time my camera takes the picture, my 2 year old is half way across the room.
I still have to learn all this camera language, it confuses me.

Now that Nikon just released the D3100, you should be able to get an awesome deal on the D3000...which a lot of women on this board have.
i have it, and i think i take great pics :)

We bought Canon Rebel T2i to use for when I give birth....I'm still learning how to use it, but it's really fast and take great pics, I am very happy with it
