Okay, doesn't look like the link worked for some reason . I've pasted the post below.

My brother has the D50 but is going to upgrade and get a newer Nikon. Do any of you have the D50, and what is your experience with it? He is willing to sell it to me for about $200, but I could get the D40 new for $375. I do like the idea of saving the $175 but if the D40 is a better camera I would swing for that. Is there a huge difference between the two models? I appreciate any insight. I am clueless when it comes to cameras but am looking for a quality camera with great picture clarity and quick shutter speed.
