Night Shift
My baby is coming in 2 months and DH and I are discussing feeding schedules. He works night shifts, leaving at 10:30 and coming home around 9. Does anyone have any experience with night working spouses? I'm concerned about getting stuck doing night and day feedings all alone.

Night Shift
I mean... It's not ideal, it sucks for everyone .. But sometimes it's the only option you have, you know? I think the key is a routine. And taking things day by day. Do you have any family help? Or could you hire a helper during the day?
A lot of people do it though, you're definitely not alone! :)

My husband does. I leave the house at 6:45 and get home between 330 and 5 depending on the day. He leaves the house between 3 and 4 pm and gets home between 12 and 4 am. His days off are Tuesday and Weds...mine is Sat and Sun. I dont have any family nearby that helps. It is what it is. When I was on maternity leave I did all the feedings alone and he helped when he could. It is how it is and that is his job. We don't have a choice. It does help in the morning with the fact that i don't have to worry about care for my kids in the morning. He gets them reaady for school/daycare...He wakes up around 7 when they get up, takes them to school at around 9 and then goes to the gym and goes back to sleep around 11.

I EBF and have done all the daytime/nighttime feeding since DS was born 20 months ago. It sucks but it is what it is.

Re: Night Shift
I worked nights and we FF.
DH had her at night. During the day it was me or daycare. And on my days off we shared.
You'll work something out.

Re: Night Shift
I dealt with it. When DD was born DH worked midnights. He took vacation when she was born but went back when she was 2 weeks old. I went back to work when she was 8 weeks. It suckeddd. But it was what it was. It's amazing what you can adapt to when you have no choice
Eta. ..before I went back to work he would come home around 9 am and I would go to bed for a few hours. He would stay up with her until around 2 pm when he had to go to bed himself

Night Shift
I'm in the feeding trenches right now. DH works during the day and I still end up with almost all of the feedings. He's not home during the day and I take the middle of the night feedings since he has to go to work in the morning. The most he can do is 2 a day when he gets home from work. I don't sleep.
You'll manage because you have no other choice!
