Nikon D40X Users...
So DH and I bought this camera, and honestly, either I'm not using it right or I just expected something else.... let me explain... I wanted a camera that clicked very quickly because I have an infant... but what I'm noticing is that unless the flash is off and auto is off, it won't do that. And if I do turn auto off and do it manually, I am getting blurry pictures. Am I missing something? Can someone help me out please!

I just got one too and am having a hard time figuring it out. When things slow down after the new year I'm going to get a dummies type book and see if that helps.

Re: Nikon D40X Users...
You need to have it on the continuous setting. To the left of the eyepiece, there is a button with a square with shadows on it. While pressing that button, use the scroll wheel that is to the far right of the eyepice and scroll until you see this in the display. Your camera needs to be on while you are doing this.
ETA: I have the Nikon D50, but I would think the camera's are pretty similar.

Re: Nikon D40X Users...
Are you pushing the "click" button half way down before fully clicking to take the pic?
I have use both the regular setting and continuous mode and have no problem.
Which setting are you on the wheel on top? Are you on Auto? This is what I use right now. I am doing some "play" with the wheel settings and get some blurry photos sometimes.

Thanks- this was helpful. Look slike it needs to be in the "P" position. I will try it tomorrow.

Re: Nikon D40X Users...
You can also change the ISO setting (the speed of the "film").
I always leave my camera on continous shooting. In the end, if there isn't enough light, your shutter is going to go slow.
