NKOTB - Are people seriously excited about them?
I think the only thing worse than aging rock stars are aging boy-banders.
I mean, really, for a while there, wasn't it almost shameful to admit that you actually listened to these guys?
Hey, to each his/her own. I just don't get the hooplah over reliving 20 years ago.

i feel the same way. i have no desire to see them - although truth be told, i wasn't a huge fan when they were popular in the 90s.
to each his own - i know my good friend got tickets and is really excited for their show.
but yes, i did turn down her offer to go with her.

I liked them in 6th and 7th grade...I can't see myself going to see them in concert...or even listening to their songs...but I guess when you're a die-hard fan you're a die-hard fan...

I was pretty excited. I think it would be fun to see them again. Purely for the Nostalgia of it. I'm still close with some of my elementary school girlfriends. It would be a good time to go out and act silly again. I won't pay $100 a ticket however.

ITA! I'm going to get tickets with my good friend and sister. I'm not going to spend a fortune on the tickets.
I never got to see them in concert when I was younger.

I kinda agree.
I was a die hard in love NKOTB fan. I was seriously addicted and saw them in concert a 100 times, taped all their on tv appreances etc..
YET I have no desire to go see them and like Lauren said, slightly embarrassed for them.
Their songs sound liek a 20 ish yr old should be singing them.
I dont take a late 30 yr old seriously when they are singing about "girls" KWIM?

i agree with another poster---its a nostalgia thing. i was a HUGE NKOTB fan when i was a tween and they were hot--i adored them and wanted nothing more than to see them in concert. i never got that chance. being able to see them is like me being 12 years old again and getting giddy over it.
my sister and i have tix to go see them at nassau coliseum and i swear we're probably gonna rock the side ponytails and neon nail polish.

lol i think for me its more to get back at my mom- LOL i remember being 9 years old and crying my eyes out becasue she wouldn't let me go to their concert... but yet my younger cousin who was 6 got to go! LOL
so stupid i know... lol but i've never quite gotten over it!

It brings me back to my childhood. I love it. I do like the genre of music as well (I LOVE Justin Timberlake, Nsync, Backstreet Boys, etc) so for me, I am excited to go to see them!

I HEART YOU!!!!! I don't get it and I NEVER liked them. I when I was 15 my first concert was INXS at Nassau Colisuem and when I was 17 my first "city show" was Nine inch nails at webster hall. When I was jumping into mosh pits at Lallapalooza, going to shows at Irving plaza and CBGB's we used to make fun of NKOTB, N'Sync, all of the boy bands.
I understand that people like them, but its not like they are U2 or a "classic" band or anything.
Why is everyone going gaga over them like they did when they were 15?  Then again I HATE Billy Joel, Elton John, RUSH, Etc., etc. and I am definitely in the minority music wise on this board so no wonder I don't get it

I am VERY excited about them getting back together and hearing their old songs on the radio. Buying tickets just isn't in my budget but I love that their reunion is making people so happy!
I am all for anything that makes people happy, no matter how silly it may seem! Women I never talked to before at my job have been squealing with me in the ladies' room about their big come back.
