My father went to boarding school. He hated it and refused to even consider it for any of us.
If your son wants to go and it is within your budget - I'd let him try it. if he hates it - you can pull him out and put him in that private school 10 miles from where you live.
If it isn't within your budget, then obviously the choice is made already!

My dad also went to boarding school but loved it.
The rest I totally agree with. Let him try it and if it doesn't work out it isn't then end of the world.

A good friend of mine went to boarding school through High school. He loved it. If he want to go than let him try it. I think it is a great experience.
