Sounds like a real vacation
TBH I said the same thing!! I told DH I didn't think a cruise was the right vacation with kids (2 y/o is too young even for the kids club!) but he was insistent. A cruise full of completely vaccinated adults and NO kids sounds like the dream to me! But a week is a long time to be away from the kids, especially since it's shortly after my DD has started Kindergarten in a new school. We're thinking of maybe doing an all inclusive for a few days without the kids now.
We really need a vacation... it's been a tough year and half. I don't know if anyone had seen but I recently had a surprise pregnancy which I lost at 8 weeks. I think DH is trying to distract me with vacation planning because it really hit me hard, still is. I also lost my grandmother to Covid and my father to cancer in 2020. It's been a lot of sh!t all at once. I could use a win.
So sorry for all your losses. You should take some time away with you and you’re DH. I think you need some R&R, beach, sun and a cocktail. I recommend Aruba, DR or Mexico for all inclusive.
Thanks- we were looking at Aruba and Curacao. We've also done Jamaica in the past and loved it, but not sure about their Covid protocols. I know Aruba and Curacao are allowing people to come in.
My friend was just in Aruba last month and they do require a PCR before entry and before leaving to come home. The hotel did the PCR required to return right there though. Not sure if being vaccinated will circumvent that rule though
I have friends in Aruba now and they are vaccinated and still needed the tests

It seems that so many people are going to Aruba! I literally know like 5 different people that have plans to go or have recently gone.

Some of the islands were requiring you to quarantine in your room when you arrived- even if you were vaccinated and tested - Aruba was one of the ones that wasn't - that was why my friend chose it.

Well that sounds delightful. Why even go?!?! I’d love to hear their rationale for doing this to people who are vaccinated AND tested.

As of 6/15 for Disney:
These measures include:
COVID-19 Vaccination: In order to sail, Guests 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as defined by the National Health Service (NHS). The NHS currently defines “fully vaccinated” as 7 days after the final dose. For questions regarding special accommodations to our vaccination policy, please contact us at [email protected] at least 15 days prior to your sail date. To learn more about how to provide proof of your vaccination, please visit Before Leaving Home: Know Before You Go. Pre-Trip COVID-19 Testing: Guests under 18 years of age are not required to be vaccinated, but must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result (paid for by the Guest) taken between 5 days and 24 hours prior to the date you set sail. Disney Cruise Line has secured a special discounted rate through a third-party vendor for PCR tests. Guests may obtain their PCR test from the third-party vendor or any testing supplier. To learn more about how to provide proof of your negative COVID-19 PCR test result, please visit Before Leaving Home: Know Before You Go.
11 and over are required to wear masks
So you can be vaccinated and/or show a negative test, and you still have to wear a mask?

It sounds like that for Disney. I haven’t heard of any ships sailing yet though so no clue of that will be lifted.

Re: No Kids Allowed on Cruises!!
Thanks everyone, it's much appreciated.
For anyone that is interested, Bahamas are a little more lax. Vaccines *OR* negative PCR tests required, not both, no quarantine upon arrival. We're looking there now, specifically Paradise Island.
