non parent but posting this: Swine Flu and kids (school age)
My sister in law called us last week to inform my family my niece who is 7 and herself tested positive for swine flu. She told me there is a pretty decent size cluster in Southold were the live and pretty much all the surrounding towns and it is spreading. What they did see all those who got sick, only were down for about 4 days, not much of a high fever at all (101) and all around it wasn't a big deal. My sister in law helps out with the school nurse and she thinks that is where she contracted it since she was sending kids home for a week prior to her being sick. None of the family had taken shots.
My nephew was on tamiflu and so far is not sick (he is 7) and my brother didn't want to take anything and he did not contract it.Mind you my entire brother's family is completely healthy actually nuts (they have wheat grass in their fridge and are psycho organic/work out nuts) so that make come into play with contracting swine flu.
I am posting this to throw my families story here since its a true one and just to put out if you live in that area to know that is rapidly spreading.

Thanks for posting this. I am glad to hear so far it's all very mild. That's reassuring.
