North Carolina Peeps - Cary area......
So my brother and his gf moved down 2 months ago and my brother absolutely cannot find a job - had tried online, going into places, going into restaurants.......you name it.
Do any of you have any contacts there - he's on the verge of losing his mind and figured I'd post here to see if the LIF ladies could help :)

I am in Charlotte...but we had the same issue once we moved down here.
2 weeks of non stop applying for jobs, they would not even LOOK at DH.
One night, I am at the mall, start talking to this girl(I talk too much in life)...telling her how hard it has been looking for jobs...
She tells me she knows a restuarant headhunter...she takes me number.
That was 8:30 PM on a Monday.
Tuesday, phone rings at 9:15 AM...6 job interviews lined for for that week.
Its all who you know.

we worked with a Bianca in Charlotte...not sure who he can call in CAry...but he should start with a headhunter.
good luck to him!
(also...have him take post office test...tons of people moving to cary each year, post office doesn't have enough people to cover all those moving in, DH gets a test info letter from them almost bi-monthly. go right on usps.com and apply)

What do they do? We are hiring here for a few jobs.
I have a few friends also in the area that are Recruiters for thier companies. Maybe I can help?

That's so funny that you just posted about this.
Me and my husband are planning a move to Cary (putting our house up for sale hopefully in the next few weeks) and he is getting so upset bc he has been applying to sooo many jobs and nothing, no call backs or even rejection letters, just no replies at all to his resume. He is in insurance and has applied to so many companies and hasn't heard a peep.
We were just talking last night about how weird it is that he never hears back. We are getting pretty nervous about the move if it is going to be this tough. I don't want to go without one of us having a job beforehand !!!

Well my brother's girlfriend has a job so she's ok.
My brother did some waitering for a few years at an italian restaurant in Commack - think he did some in college as well.
Right now he teaches web design at night but its only 2x per week for a total of 6 hours a week so its not enough to help with bills.
He has a lot of experience doing a lot of different things - he'll do anything at this point.
He tried a recruiter and came up with nothing........maybe it was just the guy he worked with, don't know.
I really appreciate all your help - it means so much
