I'll bet in North Dakota a fertilized egg has more rights than a gay person.
sad, just sad
I wouldn't be surprised!

Wouldn't a law like this make contaception like an IUD illegal?
If I'm reading the article correctly then no, because IUDs don't allow fertilization to occur.
"The House voted 51-41 this afternoon to declare that a fertilized egg has all the rights of any person."
I guess my last IVF cycle I MURDERED my 10 chromosomally defective but fertilized eggs? I am very angry right now

This is a very disappointing turn of events.
I can only hope and pray it's overturned.

Re: North Dakota passes Abortion Ban...
It is absurd that in this day and age a woman living in the USA has to worry about these things, again!!

Which is exactly why gov't needs to keep its 2 cents to itself and not interfere with personal health care decisions!!

I thought that IUDs don't let anything implant...
Oh, I think you're right. I looked really quick on google and it said it didn't let them fertilize, but others are saying it does't let fertilized eggs implant. I think it does both - meaning it tries to prevent ferilization, but if that happens it tries to prevent implantation? I have no clue!
it depends on the IUD.
some have hormones that prevent fertilization, others are made of copper and just prevent implantation.
i am sick over this ban.
