Not exactly parent related, but wanted to share this with you...
Today we had Cailen's bday party - I'll post pics tomorrow.... cailen was phenomenal, and we had an awesome time.
But then, tonight, DH and I attended a fundraiser event at Cailen's daycare. We had to get all dressed up, we both cleaned up nice, and had a great time. My parents and their friends were also there.... The daycare was closed yesterday to prepare forthe event, and DH took the day off to spend with Cailen.
So, DH and I hung out at different parts of the event (it was held at the daycare), and then he asked if I wanted to go to this little seperate area where they were serving wine. We sat and chatted, talking mostly about the party, about Cailen, etc. Since the girls were babysitting, I was a bit anxious about getting a call from them. But we never heard from them... so the evening was going well...
All of a sudden, DH reached into his jacket pocket. I thought it was the phone and got nervous, but he pulled out a card and handed it to me. I was shocked - its not mother's day yet - why am I getting a card?
It said how much he loved me, and how he knew I was sad about my ring that has been missing (remember my lost engagement ring post?) and how he wished he could buy me a hundred rings to let me know how much he loves me...
and then he pulled a box out of his pocket.
I started bawling immediately - even before opening the box... It was like he was proposing to me all over again. He told me that he has been saving for the ring ever since it was lost - and that was back in November....
He ordered the ring for me, even tried my wedding band on in the middle of the night, saw it fit his pinky, and went by that measurement!!!!
He went with Cailen on Friday to pick it up!!!
I was in shock. He said he didnt want to give it to me on mother's day, and he didnt want to give it to me before Cailen's party because he didnt want to take away from Cailen's day....
I love it - its gorgeous. Here is a pic from the website, but the sapphire in real life is much darker. Its bigger and more involved than my old engagement ring. I loved my old ring, but this one is so gorgeous and I will never forget the moment he gave it to me, and how happy I was getting a ring all over again....
Here is a pic of my old e-ring... again, the sapphire we had was a lot darker... the sapphires on my wedding band are dark...

Oh my goodness that is the nicest story!
I am so happy for you. I was so sad to hear the story when you "lost" it way back when. What a beautiful ending to that sad story! Congratulations!

Yep. I have tears in my eyes! That is a BEAUTIFUL story. Funny thing is I can totally picture it happening.
I worked that event 2 years ago and remember how gorgeous the rooms were all set up and what a great event it was.
Awwwww. The ring is GORGEOUS!
