Not sure what to do about XMAS DH and I are both have to work

DH and I have to both work on xmas nite and DH is also working xmas eve. I was thinking of trying to do something on christmas day in the afternoon around 1 but i feel like it will be so rushed. It just kills me that none of us will be home with DS on his first xmas. I know he prolly doesnt understand yet cuz he is only gonna be 11months old, but i will know.

My DH has worked every Christmas Eve and Christmas night that DS has been alive.

We just do everything in the morning and have a ton of fun, don't stress yourself out about it

OHHHHH that STINKS!!!! unfortunately it doesn't sound like there's anyway you can both be off that day, so get creative!!!
You know in most of the world Dec 26th is a BIG holiday too!!!
In Ireland it's St. Stephen's Day, there are lots of cool traditions they observe.
In England it's Boxing Day so make some figgy pudding

You could run wild with a Dec 26th theme, but if you want to keep it low key that's fine too. This year that's YOUR christmas, DS will NOT care what the calendar says!!!!

And you are doing your *best* to provide a good life for DS, that's all that matters

Since it's his first christmas, why don't you "pretend" that the 26th is christmas? That way you can go all out and enjoy and not feel like you missed anything. I would dvr the parade, wear xmas jammies, the whole thing.

I'm sorry you both have to work that day/night - but honestly this is the perfect year to have it happen - if it is his 1st christmas he won't know if Christmas day is 12/23 or 12/25 or 12/26 - so he WON"T know he missed it! I would just plan to make Christmas day for your family on the 26th or the 1st day you all can celebrate together.
