Not sure where to ask this question (prolactin and provera related)
First off....I'm not TTCing again just yet....but I'm not sure where to post this, I figured the ladies on here might be able to answer or help out.
I had DS almost 7 months ago, after 4 months of no AF, my OB prescribed Provera and took blood, my tests came back that my prolactin was 48 even though I wasnt breastfeeding, she told me to wait a few months to see if AF returned or take the Provera....I decided to wait on the Provera another month or so.
I took Provera for 5 days and got AF on October 7th. I went back to my OB for bloodwork and a checkup on October 25th, results show my prolactin is still at the same level, she told me to see an endocrinologist to get back on track and rule anything out. I have an appt. for that this Friday. In the meantime she told me to take Provera just to get a withdrawal bleed. I didn't take it bc I want to see this other dr. before taking it.
Today I started to spot, this would be Day 27 of my cycle after the provera induced cycle. I'm wondering what the heck it can be. Could it be AF? I've been feeling AF like symptoms the past few weeks. What else would it be?
(want to add that I was very regular prior to my pregnancy)

How regular were you, every 28 days, or were your cycles shorter? It seems like higher prolactin might cause a luteal phase defect (I just did a quick google search).
I do not want to bring up anything painful for you but you had a couple of losses, correct? Even though you were regular prior to having your DS, did you ever have your prolactin levels checked? I wonder if the two are related - some web articles imply that it might be. I'd definitely see the endo, and good luck!!

Thanks for replying, My hormones prior to the losses and afterwards were normal. I'm def going to the endo friday to see what;s going on.
I was regular anywhere from 28-31 days, there was the occasional 26, 27 day cycle but that was maybe once a year, if that.
Guess I'll have to wait and see what's going on with my crazy body.

Re: Not sure where to ask this question (prolactin and provera related)
from what my doctor has told me increased prolactin levels can affect ovulation and your cycle...I had borderline high and they said they would put me on a pill to lower it...I took another test and it came down. I would def see an RE so they can run all the bloodwork to make sure everything is ok.
Good luck
