Re: now that my kid eats real food
We do a lot of soups for dinner: beef and barley, chicken and rice, chicken noodle, lentil etc. For lunch he eats a lot of soy yogurt (he has dairy allergies). We've done meatballs (without the parm.), meat sauce, lots of pastas, pastina. We cook a lot of sweet potato and squash (add that to the pasta). He also eats a lot of what is on our plates. I buy frozen blueberries, peaches, strawberries and add that to his yogurt or as a snack. We also buy frozen waffles b/c its easier to make. Everything else is home-made except for Plum Baby Organics fruit pouches which we use when we are on the go! Definitely check out wholesomebabyfoods.com and weelicious.

Re: now that my kid eats real food
Breakfast: any fruit I still give her her cereal bagels toast pancakes waffles french toast eggs
Lunch: any of the above and: cheese crackers mac and cheese muffins
Dinner: whatever we're eating most of the time
I cook up a box of ditalini and mix in a box of frozen peas and carrots, add some butter and parm cheese (HER FAVORITE DINNER EVER)
It makes a TON!!
Also, these are a hit with Liv. I freeze them and defrost in a pinch in case we're ordering in. Turkey Meatloves

DS was a gagger as well - it took awhile but, one day he got it - probably around 14 months.
I only feed him things he can feed himself (he's not big on being fed).

the lightbulb went on for him when we went down to 3 bottles from 4... it also helps that they have REALLY been working on it at daycare...
for months he would only take cheerios and puffs, then we worked bread in (crusts, bagels, toast) all while eating baby oatmeal and stage 2 fruits and veggies. little by little, we have been adding other foods and he is FINALLY feeding himself. before, he wouldnt put food in his mouth and he would gag if we tried to do it.
he still rejects many things but little by little, he is eating many new things... just keep offering, over and over. i also made the mistake of giving him cheerios first or to "keep him quiet" while I prepared the rest of his meal big no no! He refused all other foods when I did that, would only eat cheerios. Now he gets them AFTER he eats other foods.
keep trying, let him do it himself. he will get it
