NPR! I have Lyme's Disease
Well, at least that explains some of the symptoms I have been having. The sore muscles, the pains all over my body, mostly in my upper thigh. The Dr decided to test me and they found the lyme in my bloodstream but I go back on Tues to get some other blood test results.
However - since the Dr last week, I have developed that rash that you get.
My Dr did said it was easliy treated. I am almost thankful to finally have a diagnosis, rather than think I had all these wierd symptoms and was going crazy.
Anyone have any experience with lymes disease?
Eta - I know some of you know I also have a blood disorder. These are 2 seperate issues. Unfortunaltely my low platelet count is here to stay!

Re: NPR! I have Lyme's Disease
i hope you feel better! i actually had lymes disease this summer ( got diagnosed the end of june). for me, i had a really stiff neck and fever for a few days, but i work at a school so i thought the kids at school had given me the flu or something. BUT then i started getting a rash like all over my body, went to the doctor- he took one look and said " its lymes". he gave me the blood test to confirm it, and started me on the anti biotics. i have been ok since, knock on wood. I just have some days when i'm just kind of tired and "blah' and don't have much energy. they say this part can last for awhile. my husband also had it a few years ago, so i knew it was easily treatable as long as you start the antibiotics early enough, which it sounds like you did. good luck and

i didnt start the antibiotics yet. I have to wait till I go to the dr tuesday. I have been having the symtpoms for about a month, the rash just appeared a few days ago. I hope I wont be starting them too late.

Re: NPR! I have Lyme's Disease
you should be ok i think... especially if the rash just started showing up. what my doctor said was " we'll give you the blood test today. it takes a few days to get the results, but we'll start you on the antibiotics today anyway... we can always just stop them if the blood test comes back negative". i guess he wanted me to get started on the antibiotics ASAP... but i don't think a couple days would make a huge difference for you. good luck with it!!

Re: NPR! I have Lyme's Disease
D, did they figure out the cause of the Low platelets? Are they sure the two are not related? I Know Lyme's can do many things to our bodies.
DH's friend had it for years, they could not figure out what was wrong with him. When he finally got treated, he went back to his old self again finally. He literally thought he was going crazy all this time, all the feelings and symptoms he had that drs kept chalking up to anxiety, depression, etc.
Did you get bit by a tick that you know of? Ever have the bullseye rash? You will be ok with treatment, but find out how long it may be esp re ttc.
I sure hope you finally start feeling better.

i was at the Dr on Wed and he said he was going to check my for Lyme's , he asked me if I had the rash, I said no. So my follow up appt is tuesday to get the bloodwork results. Then , on friday I got the bullseye rash. I have it on my arm. I dont remember getting bit by a tick, but it must have happened. The Dr, also called me on Fri (before I realized I had the rash) and told me they detected the Lyme in my blood but were waiting for some other test results.
My arms are killing me today so I want to hurry up and get treated already. I am going to see if he can see me tomorrow so I dont have to wait until tues.
the platelet prob started over a yr ago and I dont think I have had LD for that long. I started noticing symptoms about a month ago. But everyone was saying it was anxiety. (the heart palpatations) and as far as my painful limbs, I really ddnt tell anyone b/c i thought they would think i was crazy.
So - finally getting somewhere and will make sure all is safe before we start ttc'ing at the end of the year.
