numb, tingling hands
Anyone else experience tingling, pins and needles, and numbness in their fingers and hands. I get it throughout the night while i'm sleeping and at various times in the day depending on what i'm doing (ie. writing, holding a fork, etc). I read that carpel tunnel can be related to pregnancy but just wanted to get a sense of how common this is. Anyone else having this symptom?

I had numbness in my hands with my 1st pregnancy. It did slowly go away after giving birth. I hope it doesnt come back with this pregnancy!

Re: numb, tingling hands
i don't have much numbness or tingling but my left hand is insanely sore (hand and wrist) to the point that I cannot open things, turn knobs etc. Last night I actually dreamt that my wrist was broken. Its carpel tunnel - looking for a brace today.

Re: numb, tingling hands
it sounds like it could be carpal tunnel, but it should go away after the baby is born. if its worse at night, get a wrist brace and sleep with it. it will keep your hands in the proper position to allow blood to flow evenly. you can wear them during the day but they are not very comfortable

Re: numb, tingling hands
OMG!!! So funny you should post this!!!!! I have noticed the past few days EVERY time I wake up in the morning my hands are numb. It has been driving me insane, I didn't have this with my DD! Hoping it's just an annoying pregnancy thing that goes away.
ETA - I am almost 23 weeks

Re: numb, tingling hands
Had it with DD#1 and now I am also experiencing with #2. I am 37 weeks and can't wait for this to go away. It is very painful for me as my hands are very swollen and it's all day long.

its carpel tunnel - there is more fluid being retained in your body because your pregnant and that waters sits more heavily on your joints. i wakew up with my hands completely numb every day. should go away after birth
