Number 2 reason I cannot vote for Palin
this I find just AWFUL.
she fired a librarian upon taking office as Mayor of Wasilla.
According to Ann Kilkenny, a Democrat who observed City Council, Palin found certain book titles "somehow morally or socially objectionable." Palin rehired the librarian after town residents made a strong show of support.[18]
this is positively frightening to me.
I'd like to learn more about it, b/c a democrat is telling the story...but if it's true....that is a red flag to me. that gives me chills.
the historical significance of that....just wow.
ETA: Wikipedia has a fairly good biography of Palin. I started my reading there if anyone is interested.

I don't see why Ophelia can't post about Palin all day long. Don't open it if you don't like it.
BTW, I totally agree, this woman scares me. I have a hard time believing in people with such radical beliefs either way. I feel like they are disconnected with our society.

i did tell you why it shouldnt matter - I said you dont know the circumstances behind it! We have zero facts.
What did you think would happen? it would start more Palin bashing (which is fine), but we have another thread that is serving that purpose.

People might find the post more helpful if it had a link to a credible source with more information in it. Otherwise, it comes off as an unqualified, unsubstantiated, and to some possibly inflammatory in light of the dozens of other Palin threads floating around. (ETA - Even though you do you say you want to learn more about it and that it came from a Democrat... You know these discussions get heated.  )

I don't know if Idon't agree with anything she stands for, I don't know enough to make a decision about ANYTHING. But I know that she is NOT Pro-Choice and I don't agree with that. What goes on in my uterus isn't anybodies business but mine.
But I'm not thrilled about Obama either. So I don't know what I'm going to do.
