Nursery Carpeting
Ladies -
What color carpeting are you doing in your nursery? We are closing on our house on Monday and are planning on doing carpeting/floors and painting before we move in. We are team so I was planning on pale green walls and a beige carpet. My best friend, who has two boys and pets, told me her light carpet got trashed and not to do light. I don't want to do a color - but is there a darker beige that would still look good and doesn't look brown? Can you posts pic of your nursery and carpet if you can - esp if it was a neutral or beige color?
Thanks!

Re: Nursery Carpeting
we didnt put ours in yet but we have a very light beige. We were considering wood floors but we live in a building so we were worried about the noise the baby crying would cause. You could do a pergo or wood floor with a nice area rug

Re: Nursery Carpeting
I was thinking about that but I think I like the warmth and coziness of a full carpet.

I am sure you can do beige-go for it! When are you moving in? Can't wait to see the house!

Re: Nursery Carpeting
We have a grey in both DC's bedrooms. It goes with lighter, solid shades of blue and pink (currently on their walls), and it will also work if DD decides to do bubble-gum pink walls, goth black, or if DS wants camo, racing stripes, or his favorite sports team colors. I really don't want to have to either change the carpet, or deal with a weird color combo with the walls versus the carpet.

Re: Nursery Carpeting
Congrats on the house!
We have a light rug in Jack's room and it's in perfect condition. We have a light rug in the living room and that is gross. It really depends on the traffic coming in and out of the room - I doubt it will get ruined!

Re: Nursery Carpeting
Our nursery carpet is light beige. (And we have a dog and two cats.) So far, so good! The walls are a pale yellow/ivory color. But - my preference would have been laminate floor with an area rug (since carpet tends to harbor a lot of dirt, etc.).

Re: Nursery Carpeting
Do a modular carpet like FLOR
I'm planning on a light carpet and I think this is the only way to go. You can switch out dirty squares for new ones.
But I guess you need a hardwood floor underneath? I'm not sure.

Re: Nursery Carpeting
I would suggest maybe a two tone beige carpet if you are worried about it getting destroyed it wouldn't be as noticeable
We did a light beige more on the brown side than cream though

Re: Nursery Carpeting
Thank you everyone. I think I'm going to try and lean towards a beige that's a little darker - more like a sand than a cream.

Re: Nursery Carpeting
I'm having the same issue.
I dont want a color but not a fan of beige/tan carpets.
I saw light blue/grey that I liked. It wasn't as blah as grey, but still neutral.
I also saw tans that were speckled with colors. I thought that might work too.
