Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
We never used ours and I EBF DD until 15 months. DD loves it now - she climbs on it all the time!

I have a glider and love it. I have used it everyday since the day ds was born. I nursed him in it constantly. Also, dh and I both use it to read him books and such before nap time and bed.

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
Like a few others ladies have said, we just took a hand-me-down recliner. We actually never used it. DS was in our room in a RNP until he was a little older than 4 months old. So when he would wake up, I would just go into the living room and feed him there. We live in a small cape and our room is on the 1st floor so whenever he would fall asleep, it would be in our arms in the living room.

I used the poang (DS1) and also a hand-me-down rocking chair (DS2) to BF. I feel like you need something in the room if you plan to BF.

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
We were planning on getting a glider. We just started shopping around ourselves. The biggest problem is trying to find one DH and I both find comfortable. I plan on breast feeding.

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
Love our glider!! Used it for both children so far... I both nursed and F/F... I am happy I went with that over the comfy recliner-type chair because the back support is great. We just took it out of my DS's room for the new baby and he was very upset to see it go. We used the glider all the time to read books in and do our nighttime routine...

We had a glider and ALWAYS used it! My son needed to be rocked for a loooong time. We would read in it too.

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
We used ours everyday for either feeding or reading. I EBF. DS is 2.5 and we are expecting so we converted his bed so we can read in there instead of in the chair. We love our chair.

I got the Babyletto Madison swivel glider. It's perfect size for the small nursery. Not as comfy for falling asleep in but great for rocking and feeding baby.
I have this too and I love it. It doesn't recline and it's true, it's not a chair to fall asleep in, but I find it incredible comfortable to nurse in. When DD was first born, I didn't really use it because she nursed so much, I didn't want to be isolated in the nursery, but now I love being isolated with her, nursing in the glider when I get home from work and in the middle of the night.

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
I am nursing my 3rd and currently I have the glider in my bedroom. I really only use it to pump once a day. In the middle of the night I usually go into the living room and watch tv. During the day I nurse where ever...usually sitting on the floor playing with my twins. I don't think I will move the glider into ds's room. Once I put him in his crib he will (hopefully) be sttn so I don't see myself using it in there. I am not one to rock my kids either.
The only time I would say I would use it would be to read books at night but we usually do that in the living room on the couch where there is more room.

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
I got a recliner with ottoman and I loooove it. Used it ALL the time with my DD. Rocked her to sleep, BF for the short time I tried, and read her bedtime stories in it every night. We just moved the recliner into the new baby's room and we use it for feedings, to soothe him, and eventually I will read to him as well in the chair.
I've gotten SO much use out of ours, worth every penny.

Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
We have a comfy glider/recliner that we got at Behr's. To me it was worth it. We do 99% of our feedings in his room. Plus I will sit in it when we read stories or even if he's napping and I'm on my laptop. It's neutral enough that we can put it in Randy's office or in our bedroom after he outgrows it.

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
I absolutely love our glider. I did not bf. I used it right up until we moved DS into his big boy room and he is 3.5! He loved rocking in it before bed, singing songs and reading books. Such special memories.

Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
I always used my glider, still do and DD is almost 18mths. I did not breastfeed but I always fed her in the chair at night. Now I still sit with her at night and we read books and cuddle before bed. I almost wish I had another one for when DS arrives in a couple of months

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
I also wanted to add onto when I said we don't use it:
DH slept in our room the first couple of weeks. When it was time for him to eat, I'd just sit in bed and feed him.
He started sleeping through the night at 7 weeks (in his crib). There was no need to get up in the middle of the night to feed him.
Our bedrooms (his and our's) are both upstairs. Living room and den are downstairs. During the day we feed him while we sit on the couch (we aren't going to go all the way upstairs to his room to feed him!)
I think these factors also made a difference in us using the chair!
If he wakes up in the middle of the night (on rare occasion he does) I'll use the chair to sit and rock him back to sleep. Or before bed to read him a story.

Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
I love love love ours and used it all the time. We got one that looks like a regular recliner you'd have in your living room. We bought it at BRU when they were on sale 50% off. It's one of the best purchases we made IMO. I did BF and BF'd in it frequently but I also fed DD other places too. We always used to before naps and before bedtime.
DD is now 2, no longer BF and we still use it before every nap and bedtime to read stories and cuddle. I don't know what I would do without our rocker! I think it's a must have, but that's just me.

Re: Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
I have a glider in my DD's nursery and I use it every single night. I'd be lost without it.
ETA: I EBF, but I'm not sure that it would be any different if I was bottle feeding, I'd still need a place to feed her at night.

Nursery Seating UPDATED: another question
I never used my glider and I EBF for 4.5 months. My house is a ranch style so our bedroom, DS' room, living room are all within feet of each other. Hence why I'd just go in the living room and watch TV.
