Dd1 we had custom bedding. Lavender, grey and damask. Waste of money. Only ever used the crib skirt and window treatment. Never used the bumper or the blanket.
Dd2 only doing crib skirt, sheets and window treatment.

nursery themes
We did pink and white in DD room..Very french shabby chic..White furniture, white carpet, pink and white chandelier and I used the duchess bedding from Babies R Us. This time around for a boy I am doing a starry night theme..blues, silvers and greens. For a girl I am doing a plum, silver and lavender theme. I also don't do cartoons, I want the rooms to grow with them and not have to redecorate every year. The playroom I do with the cutesy character clings and posters that can easily be changed.

I don't like themes so I went with a color scheme for DD1 and will do the same for DD2.
DD1's room is painted a lavender-gray color (more gray than lavender) with white furniture and pale pink and lavender accents.
DD2 we have picked out a gray and yellow bedding so her walls will be painted gray and yellow and she'll have white furniture.
DD1's bedding/color scheme
DD2's bedding/color scheme

Re: nursery themes
we did a nautical theme for DS. But ITA the bedding was a waste of $ since we didn't use most of the stuff that came with the set.
For DD I just put in a pink crib sheet for now.

Re: nursery themes
my ds will be sharing with his baby sister so we just redid the room. Painted it grey, navy blue rug. My DS's comforter is navy and kelly green with his monogram (from PB kids), dd will be navy and pink with monogram also from PB. Her wall decor is owls in pink and navy and his is cars in navy and green. I kept navy as the neutral color and added pink and green as the accents!!!

Re: nursery themes
I'm not so into themes, but rather a color scheme. For my DS(he was team green) his room is light grey walls, with white, navy and yellow accent colors in his room. He has espresso colored furniture and we use light grey and white sheets on his bed.
DC#2 we will be painting another lighter grey on the walls and the baby will have a cool grey colored furniture. Since we are staying team green again I plan to do white and pink accents if it's a girl and white and light gren accent colors for a boy.
I fugure as long as I have the walls painted and some furniture, I can decorate to the baby's sex after they are born with colors and decor to fit the vision.

Re: nursery themes
For DD we went with a classic Pooh theme. We painted the walls green with white wainscotting and I only bought the decoration elements from the "set". Meaning we got the curtain ruffle, the lamp, some wall decor and the clothes hamper. Her furniture is dark wood. It came out really nice. For sheets and stuff I just got plain colors.
DC2 - we don't know the sex yet, but the other room we have is painted grey. We will probably do a color scheme for that one. If it's a boy we will do navy blue and grey. If it's a girl, we will do lavender and grey.

Re: nursery themes
We're doing a baby yellow and light gray color scheme. Paint is light gray. Furniture is white, gray rocking chair and yellow and gray braided round rug. For the theme it'll be "garden" with white crepe flowers/decals on the wall and some cute bee-themed things I found to go with the yellow

Re: nursery themes
Happi by dena. Me and my Mom have this love for birds and owls and this theme is full of sweet little birds and flowers. I just love the energy from it. We did beautiful wall decals, lamp and some wall decor through Happi and Wendy Bellisimo but our bedding is a beautiful light grey with stars. I liked playing with the colors and not overwhelming the room.

Re: nursery themes
Dd's decor is lavender and grey, with my old childhood white furniture. It's so serene in there! No theme, just colors.

Our nursery is grey and has one wall painted chevron that I did before we were even pregnant. We picked out a nautical theme crib set so the room will be grey, navy and light blue with anchors, whales and sail boats.

Re: nursery themes
Search Pinterest for nurserys. Im not into typical baby bedding and go with a color scheme. For DDs I went with baby bedding.com pagoda bedding (pagodas and cherry blossoms) and their room is robins egg blue, coral, pink. I have paper lanterns and tissue poms. Furniture is clean lines.
For DD3, I'm not going with anything special for bedding. Just basic PBK floral crib sheets. (I don't use bumpers and crib quilts are a waste). I'm getting white painted vintage furniture, wallpapering an accent wall with vintage looking paper, white curtains and crib skirt and hanging painted vintage frames above crib. I guess a vintage/shabby chic theme. The colors are blush pink, white, and touches of robins egg blue.

Re: nursery themes
I like themes! i think it is fun, they are babies/kids, why not have fun and make it a fun room!
DS's room is painted green and has monkey decor (bedding, decals and carpet). He LOVES his monkeys!
DS who is expected 7/31, his room is blue and we are going with a fish/under the sea theme. All the same stuff.. bedding, decals and area rug)

We were team green and we did a monkey/jungle theme. We are having this team green baby in that room as well (changing the sticker with my first son's name) and moving my son into a new room which is being decorated Disney Cars!
