Yes- absolutely because otherwise it’s pointless because vaccinated individuals can get and spread covid as well so logically the distinction doesn’t make sense to me. Especially with the delta variant where the info is so conflicting it’s nonsensical! In the same day US news was reporting the vaccine is effective against Delta, Israel was reporting the opposite. Same day Pfizer said a third booster is necessary the cdc says the opposite and now a week later they are changing their tune. This doesn’t make me feel too safe around someone just because they had the vaccine!
Also, on a side note this is going to skew the numbers tremendously so we will have no idea what is really happening with cases/spread and this will impact efforts to get past this in my opinion. If you are only testing unvaccinated people -mandatory and in mass, logically the numbers will show most cases as unvaccinated (even those that are asymptomatic or so mild they may have been missed). This is actually already happening and what is leading to spreads and outbreaks of vaccinated people like the one in Provincetown. I really think the way we are going about trying to fix the problem is why we will never move past it.
Instead of mandating vaccines - try putting more time and science into making the vaccines safer and more effective. If they can do that - more people will be willing to get them, especially for their kids. Right now, there is more chance Of a healthy teen boy to get myocarditis from the vaccine then to die from covid. They need to fix this. How many child hood shots have hundreds of kids with myocarditis/pericarditis? How many adult shots carry risks of this magnitude.? And, in our age group more people are worried about the long term effects of covid in your body than the short term severity / no one knows if the vaccine can even help this since so many people are still getting covid with the vaccine! Put the science into making a safer and more effective vaccine instead of spending all the time on propaganda and mandates forcing people to take one!

The numbers are totally skewed without knowing vaccinated vs unvaccinated. Of course the #s for unvaccinated is higher when they don’t test the vaccinated! It’s like a game of who’s on first.
I’d like for them to put more effort into therapeutics , and not just IV meds. For when you test + and can start taking to shorten your duration. I mean, if you can make a vaccine in a year you can’t make a tamiflu for Covid in the same timeframe?
I think the constant campaigning to vaccinate and treating the unvaccinated like lepers is outrageous.

No. Why should I (vaccinated) have to bother getting tested when #1 it is highly unlikely I would even get sick if I get it, and #2 when you break it down it's really only for the protection of the unvaccinated. If you have an issue with businesses restricting things for unvaccinated individuals, get the vaccine then. If you are vaccinated and are concerned you may still get it, wear a mask.
I couldn't care less if I am surrounded by vaccinated people who aren't being tested. If we are going down this rabbit hole we might as well just accept the fact that we will be testing until the end of time.

I totally agree with this and honestly the current facts and science don’t support the way we are proceeding - we are actually hampering efforts to move past the virus in doing this!!!!
As for the meds - I did read that China has already come up with a medicine like tamiflu for covid and it’s in the trial phase. I read Pfizer is trying to as well but is way behind China currently.

Do you read the news? Have you seen how many outbreaks there currently are of vaccinated people in this country and others? Have you read they aren’t sure how effective the vaccine is against the delta? Have you read the whole segments of the population may have zero immunity from the current vaccine? Have you read that people who got the vaccine before end of February may no longer be immune? How does what you are saying make any sense in light of all this . If you want this scenario you are preaching - they need a more effective vaccine or this will be our lives forever because in part vaccinated people are living like covid is over based on no facts or science.

As a matter of fact I do read the news. I have read that with being vaccinated there is still plenty of protection against any of these variants. With Pfizer for instance you are still 91% protected from serious illness of this and any other current variant out there.
The two-dose vaccine still works very well in preventing people from getting seriously sick, demonstrating 88% effectiveness against hospitalization and 91% effectiveness against severe illness, according to the Israeli data.
At this rate why don't we require testing of the flu and every other common cold out there. Part of the reason this virus is still an issue is due to all the people still not vaccinated. There are plenty of articles out there that also say viral load with vaccinated individuals is far less than that of unvaccinated individuals. See a trend here?
People who have received a COVID-19 vaccine and later become infected with the coronavirus tend to have a lower viral load according to a new study published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine.
That means they are likely to be less contagious than unvaccinated people and don’t transmit the virus as much to others. In addition, researchers found that vaccinated people had a shorter and milder course of COVID-19.

Why do people think they’re not doing research of therapeutics? They are. Follow KingGutterBaby on IG, she is the lead for Emory in Atlanta and they are running several studies currently.
One doctor I follow said it’s amazing how people are willing to take an experimental treatment but are still resistant the vaccines which have been proven effective.

One doctor I follow said it’s amazing how people are willing to take an experimental treatment but are still resistant the vaccines which have been proven effective.
Personally, I’ve said a million times- I am young and healthy and feel it isn’t much of a risk for me to get Covid. In the event that I ended up sick to the point that I needed medication to survive….I would take what is available. I’ve always said that if I was to the point of any sickness, ie cancer, I would absolutely take an experimental treatment if it meant I would survive. With Covid,…I feel I would survive without taking the vaccine.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll follow her now to see what’s being worked on. I say it because as of right now, what’s available is Given by IV only. If they are working on anything that can prescribed to take at home, it’s not being discussed anywhere and it’s not easy to find real information that I would take seriously.

Yes but not to the same extent. Vaccinated people should only be required to test if they have had exposure to a positive case. But even now, if I am vaccinated and someone in my household comes down with CoVid, I am not required to do anything.
