NYC Employees - does anyone use an insurance other than GHI?
We are currently content with GHI but, I wanted to get an idea of the pricing for other options.
DH was trying to find last years benefits material but, was unsuccessful.
I know friends of ours used to use Empire but, the costs shot up tremendously last year.

There is also HIP which I don't think has any cost and lower co pays but, we don't have it because I don't like having to get referrals for everything.

That was the only one I knew about.
Now that ENT Allergy is dropping GHI, I wonder if others will follow? I'm hoping for a resolution - I really like my allergist.

Lots of people have been complaining about GHI dropping their ENT's... I wonder why all of a sudden this is becoming a problem.

My ENT said that they have been trying to negotiate higher rates with GHI for years. (They haven't increased rates since the 90's)
The ENT threatened to drop GHI and GHI said go ahead.

Yeah - we got a letter. They are paying the same amount out per claim as they did in 1999  ENT encouraged us to call GHI and complain... And the office today said many were (there were signs everywhere and the nurses, doctor and front desk staff made sure to tell me)
They gave the individual doctors the option to drop last year but, this year it's the whole practice is dropping.
