NYC moms - recommendations?
We will be moving to the city for a year starting this summer. I would LOVE some recommendations of toddler friendly restaurants and locales that your child(ren) enjoy. Encolosed parks? Stroller friend venues? Any advice will be great appreciated!

Re: NYC moms - recommendations?
I'm a Manhattan mom. I live on the upper west side. Most places are family friendly up here- same with most of the city. we have gone to so many restuarants in Tribeca, the UWS, Village, Soho- and most of them are toddler friendly.
There are plenty of playgrounds. Since we live on the UWS, we spend most of our time at the ones in Riverside Park and Central Park. There are a few random playgounds we will hit too. There is a decent one in Bleeker street and Hudson in the west village we go to when we are down there.
A great summer locale is the Museum of Natural History. There is a fountain in back and you don't have to pay for it. The kids love it! There is also the Children's Museum on 84th b/w Broadway and amsterdam.

Re: NYC moms - recommendations?
We pretty much take DS everywhere. It will be our first summer with him but so far we spend lots of time in Carl Shurz park (UES) and Central Park. He LOOOVES going to the dog runs to see the little dogs. Dining out in easier now that the restaurants have their outdoor seating available because we just park the stroller next to the table. Sat night we even sat outside and had a few glasses of wine after dinner because he fell asleep in it

Another NYC mom here. I live downtown. We take DD everywhere. I must say I think Manhattan is very kid friendly. On 23rd street and the West side by Chelsea Piers theres a cool water park open in the summer. It's small but clean. I find most restaurants in NYC are kid friendly....even the small ones in the village you see parents with their babies.
