Re: Official 17 day diet users
Posted by beachgirl
I am on day 12 and stuck at 6lbs down and to be honest I am getting so tired of the food...I have been eating yoghurts, apples, berries, pears, arugula, tomatoes, eggs and salmon and thats it for 11 days now......dreading this weekend as I just want to eat some carbs..just a slice of toast or something..I think its because I am feeling down in the dumps anyway and this is not helping.
Any ideas on how to keep going and getting through the next 5 days?
Tomorrow when you wake up you will be a healthier, improved version of yourself. Don't do it!! Lol - Have you tried any of the recipes in the book? What about a kefir smoothies? Here is a website from the doctors tv show wit tons of recipes from cycle 1. If I can stay away from bread I think anyone can

Re: Official 17 day diet users
So this was my first week on cycle 2 - I haven't lost anything. I was really sick so I wasn't really excersising and now I have aunt flo so I am hoping it's just a fluke. I'm back on track with my working out now, I'm not going to weigh again until Sunday - I don't want to get discouraged and give up if I don't see losses each day...

I am sure weight loss will slow down drastically during cycle 2. Hang in there though! They do say that slower weight loss means that it will be more permanent anyway. I just liked the idea of this jumpstart.

Re: Official 17 day diet users
So I fell off (big time) it was my daughters 1st bday this weekend. Big party, lots of food, lots of leftovers.
BUT I got on the scale this morning and I did not gain an ounce. Not sure how that happened. But I am back on track today. Today is day 7 and even with a weekend of no holds barred I am down 3lbs. I will take it. Next step. Get on my dam* treadmill

Re: Official 17 day diet users
So I've been slacking horribly the past week. Gained a bit back, but re-started cycle 1 yesterday and lost a bunch of water weight overnight. I'm only 2 lbs up from where I was when I got off track. Yay!
Just checked out that Doctors link and I can't wait to try some of those recipes! I've been getting soooo tired of fish since DH and I don't eat white or red meat. Just read that I can substitute imitation meat for protein so I am going to go to town!!!
ETA: Total loss since the beginning is 7lbs!

I've gone off too. The holidays make it so difficult. I will be getting back on too.

Re: Official 17 day diet users
Hi everyone. Just wanted to share that I lost 30 pounds in 4 months with the 17 day diet. The last few weeks, i've plateaued, which I thought wasn't supposed to happen... but I wasn't as strict as I was in the beginning so that may have had something to do with it... i've gotten stricter again and started exercising more so we'll see what happens... i love this diet!! good luck everyone!!

Re: Official 17 day diet users
So I am at the end of Cycle 1 - Day 17 and my total weight loss was 7lbs with no exercise.
I am nervous about going on Cycle 2 as I really need to get another couple of pounds off before the holidays and I have read about Cycle 2 putting you at a standstill......what to do, what to do?

I am at a 12 day stall on cycle 2 I just keep trying to tell myself that I'm healthier than I was the day before. I work in retail so it's hard for me to be just constantly drinking water and I was limiting my carb/fruit intake to nothing after 5 since sometimes I work until 11 pm, so I guess I have to go back to 2pm...

Re: Official 17 day diet users
UPDATE 12/19
Today is day 2 of cycle 3 and already I've lost 2 lbs. Cycle 2 was a drag for me - only lost 2lbs but I've been going back over the chapters and reading the blogs and I think I know where I went wrong. I didn't realize on C2 you can eat more snacks like low fat cheese for example. I was basically doing cycle 1 but eating oatmeal for breakfast every other day. Not enough calories I think...
my total loss so far =15lbs

Re: Official 17 day diet users
I've lost four pounds in five days and am in shock. I don't have much to lose and I usually drink a ton of water anyways but cutting out the carbs must have been what my body needed!
As for breakfast, I've been eating egg white omelets with onions, peppers, broccoli and mushrooms almost every morning.
Also, Monday night we went out to dinner and I had a few glasses of wine so defiinitey a cheat there but still lost.

Re: Official 17 day diet users
How is everyone doing?
I fell off a little bit with Christmas eve and Christmas. Ate horrible but I've been working out like a madwoman and thankfully haven't gained. I'm on cycle 3 but have had a hard time with following the lemon water, green tea at every meal, etc. I will be restarting cycle 1 on January 4th so I'm just trying to get back into the swing of things until then...

Re: Official 17 day diet users
Started saturday, followed the menu plan to a tee. I am down 5.6 lbs already! I know it's mostly water weight, but I love it anyhow!!! I have all of my meals for today at work with me and I am ready to follow it again! I have hockey tonight so I plan to skate a bunch with the girls!
