i might as well add from my bridal shower.
my bridal shower was at E.B. Elliots in Freeport. It was really nice. Very relaxed atmosphere with the water outside, and they had an outside deck which was nice since it was in July. it was 3 years ago and people are STILL telling me how good the lamp chops were!! the price wasn't outrageous either although not sure what they paid in 2007 vs. now.

just had mine 2 weekends ago at dj's international buffet in garden city. the private room was great and everyone was able to eat what they wanted! took forever to open all the gifts....i could've done without that!!

Just realized I never added my sprinkle.
It was held at the Babylon Carriage House. We did a Buffet on a Sunday. Had to guarantee 35. I think it was around $34 pp but included bagels, muffins, omelet station, bacon, sausage, french toast, choice of 2 entrees, soda, mimosas, and bloody marys.
The room was private. And the staff/service was amazing.

My baby shower is being thrown at the de Seversky Center on New York Tech's campus. It's a gorgeous mansion and it ran about $55 per person. I am having a very large shower (109 people attending....122 invited) so we needed a larger venue. So worth checking out if you need a larger place to host a shower or party.
As for my bridal shower, we had it at Jonathan's. The shower was nice but they promised my mom she could fit everyone invited "easily" (we had 97 people) and it was SOOOO tight the day of the shower. Nice place for a shower of 70 people or less.

Il Bacco in Little Neck, Queens. $40-45pp. Includes salad, pasta, main, cake, coffee, tea, soda, wine and beer. Also champagne toast and cappucino/espresso

the prices are reasonable and the food is great!
I went to a baby shower at Black Forest Brew Haus about a month ago and the food was excellent!!! They had a brunch buffet and there were tons of options. I dont know the price, since I was a guest. The room was set up very nicely also. There were about 5 tables lined parallel - plenty of space to get up and visit others. The wait staff was wonderful and kept refilling our mimosas
This past weekend I went to a bridal shower at Momma Lombardi's in Holbrook and by comparison, the food was just ok. The room was a little small for the amount of guests too. There were just 2 tables, lined side by side, and it was a little hard to move around. The wait staff seemed very confused as to who ordered what food and drink.

Montego Bay in Island Park. They have a back room and do a wonderful brunch. Only open seasonally though May-September. So only an option for the Spring /Summer girls.

I just booked my sister's shower at Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue. I got an amazing deal of $28.95p/p for a sit down lunch (chamapgne punch & soda included).

Mine will be at Black & Blue Seafood Chophouse in Huntington. I think its around $35pp but they're super flexible with working with your budget.

My mom is having mine at the Bonwit Inn. I think it's $30 for salad, app and 5 choice lunch menu (sit down), coffee, soda and champagne punch.

Mine was at La Famiglia in Plainview. It was $27pp (in 2010) and included 1 antipasta platter appetizer, salad, choice of 4-5 different entrees, cake, soda and coffee included. The private room held about 50-60 people. Delicious food and good service!

Mine was at John Harvard's in Lake Grove. Food was great! They did a nice job - though the proximity to giant kegs was a little odd for a baby shower! My family did a great job decorating the room though!

It is awesome, brand new place (they were a very popular place that moved to a bigger location a cple doors down).

My shower was in 2010 but Jack Duggans Pub in Floral Fark... food was sooo good & pricing was very affordable. I think it was around $20 before tax for a buffet. They also do not charge you extra if you don't want to use their cake baker.
