Do you mean Fantasmic! ? I haven't heard of any closures on Illuminations.
That would be huge if they're closing down 3 out of 4 nighttime shows at one time. I hope not.
yess fantasmic! i don't know where i got illuminations from. i called disney and was told they are changing some stuff to it and its closed. the runaway train is closed for refurbishment

Could you do a detailed trip report when you get back. This is where we are contemplating staying - since they have the Royal (princess) rooms. I would love to hear what you think of it. Are you doing ME or renting a car? I'm concerned about the buses because we won't have a car.
I sure can. IDK if we will gte the princess rooms, though plan to request. They are not all finished yet.
We are driving down, so we will have our own car.
we are driving down too, and going the same exact days. what time do you plan on leaving? my kids are 4.5 and 2, idk if i should leave early morning or right before their bedtimes.
LOL....My kids are 4.5 and 2 as well!! ( I have 2 yr old twins though)
We are leaving at 7pmish on Friday night, so hopefully they sleep through the night, we get a good drive in. I do better driving at night believe it or not.

First WDW trip for my son who will be 16 months (He went to Disneyland at 4.5 months)
It will be a huge family trip with my parents, in laws, brother and sil and bil/sil
I am already mega stressed lol

Have you ever stayed here before?
We did in '10. Beautiful resort, however when you are checking in request a room close to the lobby. The place is HUGE and if you are planning on using Disney transportation that walk will annoy you after awhile.
If you will have a car, it's not as much of a big deal because there is a parking garage underneath that you can use.

Late October-early December 2012- Will be down on Halloween for Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party and then stay for the Christmas Party.... So much to see and do around the holidays... We just went down Nov 29th-Dec10th, 2011 for all the Christmas stuff and only saw half of it!!!
We rent a house...

our disney vacation has moved from 1/23-2/2 to 2/29-3/8 we are staying at akl and bcv
dh is getting promoted at work and has to do a 5 week promotional calss- so while its disappointing that our much anticipated vacation is not around the corner its exciting he's getting promoted!

thanks!!! this is the SECOND time we changed it! his class was supposed to go in december - we cancelled that trip -- and the promotional class was cancelled
we rebooked for the end of this month and the class went in today.. we didn't cancel until he got the paperwork that the class was actually starting! Good old city of ny tells their employees on a friday that they are getting promoted and have to attend a class that monday!

we haven't stayed here before, but we have a few friends who have and since its not as close as some of the other resorts, we decided to rent a car. I can't imagine waiting on a crowded bus at the end of the day with cranky kids.
I can't wait...5 more days. We already have our trading pins, photo pass card and i pre-ordered my groceries so we can eat breakfast in our room before we hit the parks.

We booked a Disneyland trip May 17 to 21 for an event called the Gumball Rally. We're staying off property at HoJos. So excited!!
